Judge says Oregon's river temperature standards need more scrutiny

Federal agencies inadequately reviewed Oregon's water quality standards for stream temperatures, a U.S. District Court judge ruled Tuesday, a decision that puts a critical component of the state's clean water laws in doubt.

Judge John Acosta said the Environmental Protection Agency needs to take a much harder look at how the state evaluates the temperature effects of logging, farming and cattle grazing.

The water temperature issue is bogus. We've been working on this issue in our county, where the commissioners want to expand the protected riparian zone beyond what the state requires. The first reason for why this needs to be done is pollution. When pressed to show where there's pollution, they say it's the temperature. A scientist from OSU has shown that the temps in our local rivers are naturally higher than what the state Dept of Environmental Quality says it should be. In other words, they want what never has & never will exist.

This world has certainly gone crazy.

No human will be allowed to within 5 miles of any body of water. Protecttion of the enviroment from the destructive forces of people must be enforced.

I used to swim in country streams quite a lot when I was younger. I noticed that they are cold in the spring, and get warmer as the summer progresses. Sometimes toward summer’s end, they were lukewarm.

I never noticed that it had much to do with cows or loggers. As you say, this is a pretext. More delays, more bureaucrats hired, more thermometers bought to take stream temperatures. More arguments about what the temperatures should be. Then the global warmists are brought in to discuss the matter, and they hold seminars in Hawaii, Lucerne, Oslo, and Johannesberg.

Then they send everything back to committee, because the evidence is inconclusive.

As Clinton would say, “just put a little ice on it.”

No more logging, cattle or grazing! Incredible. And I knew it was bogus even before I read your opening remark.

So what will be left when the current regime gets finished with us? No houses, no food. Kill off as many babies with abortion. Kill off the elderly. DESTROY AMERICA.

This world has certainly gone crazy.

It's been just as crazy in times past but the "environmental" approach to world socialism is surreal. Politicians, regulators and judges are herding the sheeple into increasingly smaller corrals using environmental scare tactics as cattle prods. What's really crazy is the people themselves are voting for tyranny due to their own ignorance and complacency.

Notice the choice of the word stream...you can bet the homestead that in the end there will be no difference between streams fed by snowpack/glacial and streams in arid country...and of course the flow rate will be of no importance as will the time of year. Just another roadblock thrown up the Ecofreaks to squash human civilization.

This has its origin in Agenda 21.
