I’m pretty sure that had I been born black I would be very disappointed by such a thing as a museum of African-American history. It suggests that there is a separate history— an alternate narrative for blacks than for the rest of the American experience.

I would rather see a museum of American history, which honestly captures one common narrative of the story of the nation. There is only one history. It belongs to all of us. There are not different histories or separate time-loops for the telling of different versions of history.
