Chicken lays really jumbo egg in Colombia

SAN FRANCISCO, Colombia -- A farmer hopes his hen's enormous egg will make it into the record books.
The farmer's daughter got a real surprise recently when she found the egg weighing 8.6 ounces, or about four times the normal weight of an egg.

Reminds me of Red Skelton playing his Clem Kadiddlehopper character "at the county fair." He checks the chicken with the blue ribbin and spots the egg - a white cube! The face and gesture is pure Skelton - hilarious.

Speaking of white cubes, I used to press hard boiled eggs into perfect square cubes. I had bought a novelty plastic press designed for that purpose. I would peel a boiled egg immediately after removing it from boiling water. I would drop it into the press, insert a piston, then turn a screw collar on the piston to force the egg into a square shape. After the egg cooled off, it would retain the shape. A great party joke.
