Believe it or don't but I had to post this. I am TOTALLY serious about it.

Mostly I dismiss stuff like this but there has been so much talk about these sounds I watched the video.

I am STUNNED and even shaking a bit!

THAT SOUND...EXACTLY! I heard it between 1:45AM and 2AM this morning!

I am at work at a group of radio station in Pittsburgh. No one else is in the building. When I heard the sound my first thought was that someone had stopped in and might be moving a piece of furniture. It was so noticeable I left my studio to see who was here. There was no one to be found.

Next I thought it might be thunder but it didn't sound like thunder, it was the same sound as in some of the ones in the video.

It did not last long, maybe 2-4 seconds and there weren't harmonic overtones.

Next I thought it might be a garbage truck or some other vehicle in our industrial park. Since I'm on the 3d floor with a great view I can see just about everything here but there was nothing. Everything is quiet as usual.

The only other possibility is that it was something on a web cast I had on a computer in the background while I work. Revision 3's Tekzilla was running a wrap up from CES. When I get home I'll watch it again and see if the sound is on there. I highly doubt it though. Not only did I hear the sound I FELT it as well so the chance of it coming from the speakers is pretty slim. The volume was WAY down.

In a couple of hours I'll be speaking with one of the local weather forecasters and I'll ask him if there was the possibility of thunder overnight. The problem is it didn't really sound like thunder.

One thing is sure. I have all the lights on now and they will stay on for the rest of the night.

Oh...I think I heard it again just now! Not as loud...two or three short low frequency bursts. I checked the other studios to see if anything on the air there could cause it and no way. None of the music playing had that sort of sound.

I'm also going to check t he HVAC. Sometimes it can act up and make unusual sounds but they never sound like this did.

It's going to be a long night!

Per the YouTube video link, why is everyone all poised and in place and ready out there with their video cameras to record a “noise”? I mean, did they all hear something first, and then go grab their cameras? Seriously, nobody just sits outside with a video camera pointed at the sky, waiting for a noise, unless it is engineered to happen or is anticipated. There is no context from the tape from what I can tell, nor affadavits that I can tell, local police reports and the like. I could be wrong, but this world is full of weird noises and it has been that way for hundreds of thousands of years. Our universe is one continuous wave of perceptible noises, including those from astrophysical bodies, and the like.

The reason I’m even on FR this early is that a sound very like this one just woke me up. Live north of Dallas (TX).

And yes, it is not a “feel good” sound. Sorta freaked, too.

I heard it too at about 2:05am which is about right for a barely subsonic B1B from your area to mine. I've heard them before. Sounds like a train of empty cars trying to stop on a warped brake rotor (wheel).
