My dog still goes bananas whenever I get up or go in and out the door. “i’m just taking out the garbage!”

He also freaks out every night at the bumper music for the weather on the TV news. And he does not like the seagulls on the production company tag at the end of SpongeBob episodes.

They are close, I would use torpor to describe a medical condition more than just boredom. A+

That sounds like a really nice obedience school-I could name a couple of really wretched small dogs on this road who could use a couple of weeks at that place, starting with the snarling, biting chihuahua 4 properties up the road...

I know what you are saying about the unidentified cow parts-Husky girl loves them, too, and no matter what brand they are, they do smell like something she has killed and buried a couple of weeks ago. I get a kick out of the names on the packages-bull jerky, moo munchies, etc, but nowhere does it say what the thing is.

Had to go out in this snow for my haircut, coming home was awful. 19 degrees and snowing! I made it to the bottom of my hill just fine. Looked up the first block and saw a bus with it’s front tires up over the curb. The road was icy and I had to gun it to make it up. Thank God for studded snow tires. Hope they got to the bus before someone hit them as they sat there trapped. All appeared well with the driver waving us on so I didn’t stop. Got home and the scanner hasn’t stopped. Lots of accidents all over.

I never heard of a dog obedience school where you just dropped them off. We had to go with our dogs and train with them. Sound like a reform school for troubled dogs! LOL just kidding.

The one I went to with Husky girl insisted on someone being there with the dog, but it was optional at the obedience school my daughter went to with her Staffordshire Terrier (aka Pit Bull). Her dog is actually better behaved than Husky girl, and he is a dreaded Pit Bull-but I was told at the place where I took Husky girl that Huskies are notoriously stubborn about everything but pulling a sled and are not all that obedient. The opposite is said to be true for Pit and other Bulldog breeds.

A Husky is a beautiful dog. There was one in our neighborhood years ago, used to come stand in my yard and stare at me. Couldn’t get close to him, but we bonded his way. He seemed to come by a lot and just be there. No petting. I would talk to him and he would appear to stay and listen. Had a blue eye and a brown eye. Then we got leash laws and no dogs were loose.

My 13 year old Husky is gray and white and has blue eyes-she is a big dog and has a wolfish look, especially when she snarls. She is not at all friendly to strangers until they are invited inside, then after awhile she will allow herself to be petted and fed treats. If she remains aloof, I’m distrustful of that person as well, but she has only taken a dislike to an acquaintance who does not like pet animals of any species, a neighbor’s kid who smelled of weed every time he came over to cut the grass, and Nemesis, who is not to be trusted by man nor beast.

I would not dare to leave Husky girl unattended, old as she is even in her own fenced yard-she is an escape artist like many of that breed-they want to go find Alaska and run in the Iditarod, I guess...

Well that Husky liked me then. He never growled or made me feel uncomfortable, but other neighbors thought he was mean. That explains it. He was so beautiful he took my breath away.

A lot of people assume a dog is “mean” if it does not run to everyone wagging its tail-I think a dog that does that is like a person who is way too trusting of strangers. I don’t think a dog who sits/stands quietly and watches is mean-just minding its manners and watching its own and its owners’ backs...

I think he growled when folks tried to aproach him or shoo him away. I noticed right off that he would only come so close, he moved away if I approached. He would eventually come within a couple feet of me and join me on walks.

What color was the Husky? The gray and white like mine are the most commoin around here. There is a very pretty red and white one up the hill on the next road, but I think the most startling looking are the black and white ones.

I just saw on the news that John Edwards has a serious “heart problem”. How is that possible-I thought his “heart problem” was that he didn’t have one...

I think he was white and grey....very pretty, maybe a touch of black with the two colored eyes. I think the owners moved not long after the leash laws, as I expect he would be able to break free and wander if he wanted. In any case, it’s been so many years not sure if he would still be alive. My kids were young when he was around. I always liked that breed, but our 3 dogs were all different breeds.

As for John Edwards....if this is an emergency-life threat, why is the surgery next month? MY mother had two different surgeries replacing heart valves and stitches put into a third one.
