I watched it and I'd seen that exchange before.
It was a typical whiny, screechy, Code Pink-inspired Ron Paul rant and Rick Santorum was the one who made sense.
Ron Paul wasn't schooling Santorum on the history of our relationship with Iran; he was spinning it to blame Iran's 1979 hostage-taking and subsequent vile actions on the US.
Iran is to blame for all of that evil...NOT the US.

Ron Paul’s foreign policy experience died with the advent of technology. When Washington delivered his now famous farewell address, the idea of staying out of Europe’s affairs was rational, feasible, and smart. There were no airplane’s, ICBM’s, and the US was separated by two massive oceans from the world’s greatest conflicts.
But in case you didn’t notice, the world has progressed since 1796. Evil men have come up with new, quicker, and more efficient ways of killing large numbers of people. The time where good men can sit on the sideline and do nothing...is over.
Iran wants to commit genocide. They must be stopped at all costs. It’s always easier to PREVENT than it is to deal with the problem when it’s too late.
Like Paul, you fail to realize that about 75% or more of the world would love nothing more than to see the US collapse as the dominant force in the world, because we are the only nation in the world that dares to keep dictators at bay....and those evil men know that (not because we’re mongering empire-builders like Paul suggest).
Personally, what’s happening in a place like North Korea and Cuba pi$$es me off. In NK, you have MILLIONS of people in work camps and prisons with no hope under an totalitarian military state. We should liberate those people because its the right and humane thing to do. We should have also took out Castro in Cuba to stop the massive oppression there. And hell yeah, I’m all for putting Iran’s leaders in graves as soon as possible so they can get on their way to Hell ASAP.

Santorum lost 1 out of the 4 races he ran in a deep blue state as an unabashed Conservative. Can you point out any other candidates in this Primary that can say the same? He lost in a terrible GOP year against a Pro Life Rat who talked as a traditional values believer. On the other hand Paul never even ran state wide in TX because he knows no one would vote for him. That there is pathetic.
You know what gets my attention?
This paulbot is so uncertain of the truth that he couldn’t just be happy that Paul was up in the polls today.
He had to dig up some old stuff from the Ames debate to counter Santorums rise today.
I smell fear.
On the historical facts he is correct but on everything else he’s wrong. For the same reason the British and the French should be the ones to clean up the middle east, as they caused the problem to begin with after WW1.
I only ask for a title that makes sense. RP = nuke winter, not because he’s a warmonger, but clueless.
Paul has mostly excellent positions. I’d bet 70%. Where he screws the pooch, is related to the 12’vers, and international capital flows. The fact that people don’t understand MAD, and why it does not apply to Iran, most likely N. Korea, many of the splinter states of china(near future) and parts of south america does not make it less scary.
Santorum has a better economic, and f-policy then the rest, he’s not electable. VP or Sec state, to another run-maybe.
