Devon La Russa, the daughter of St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa, apologized and removed an offensive tweet she sent Sunday night regarding Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington, Yahoo! Sports reports.
The tweet that created the backlash: "I saw a crack head doing 'The Wash' today. Coincidence? I think not..."

I haven’t been watching closely, but seems to me, if you get to the World Series, you must be a pretty decent manager.
And I’ve enjoyed seeing Washington in the highlights, his reactions are fun. The man is clearly enjoying this ride.

Washington is a fine manager and his players are fiercely loyal. He played the game with passion and he manages with passion. He is the opposite of La Russa's cool as a cucumber approach, but in my opinion to be successful you need to be yourself and not pretend you're something you're not.
Hey, I like La Russa too. It's hard to argue about the approach of a guy who is behind the legendary McGraw in wins.
That said, his managing last night was bizarre.

I don't think LaRussa has any daughters-in-law. He has been married twice and has four daughters. No sons.

I don't know...doesn't seem too bad to me. From what I read, Washington tested positive for coke three times since being manager which I guess is why there is such sensitivity here. However, it still doesn't seem too bad to me.

The drug reference created a stir because Washington tested positive for cocaine during the 2009 season, his third as Rangers manager.
Lol. Probably misread that. Was that "his third" season as manager or "his third" positive test for cocaine?

A fan had a creative poster in the stands. The image of Ron Washington superimposed on a dollar bill with the inscription. "In Wash We Trust".... pretty cool stuff!
