Bring him some flowers on your lunchbreak, and be syrupy-nice to him all day. Rub it in. You have one chance.

So does this replace the Chicago Cubs’ epic el-foldo in 1969? Please?

Thanks, Red Sox, for keeping my Braves’ collapse off of the front page.

The Detroit Tigers had a huge collapse a few years ago. They still won the Wild Card and made it to the World Series.
The bigger collapse was the Blue Jays in '87, when they lost their last 7 games and blew a 3 1/2 game lead to the Tigers.

Nothing sweeter, Redsox losing and Rays winning.
GO RAYS!

In all seriousness though, it is pretty disturbing that a 40-something year old guy with a wife and kids and a good job, would actually get so wrapped up in his sports the way he does. He's 40 and he wears Red Sox shirts and Patriots jersies to work! Please. How would you like to be surrounded by 20 million of these nimrods? Guess all those 'Enjoy the World Series with the Sox and Doritos' displays at the grocery stores will be disappearing pretty quick...

Apparently. The worst part is I’m dragging today because of the 13-inning game last night. Hey, if you’re going to lose, at least have the common decency to do it in 9 and let me get to bed.

In 1964, the Phillies squandered a six-and-a-half-game lead during the final weeks of the season that year, losing 10 games in a row with 12 games remaining and losing the pennant by one game to the St. Louis Cardinals. The “Phold of ‘64” is among the most notable collapses in sports history.

Keep in mind that your Braves USED to be a BOSTON franchise...someone had it out for Boston this year; past and present.

2012 Red Sox: Slogan Yes We Can. Higher ticket prices and payroll, poorer performance. Three left fielders, none in center or right. Fenway renamed Ted Kennedy Field.

Offer to buy him lunch, but tell him you’re concerned that he might CHOKE on it.
