WASHINGTON
Who would you put on a stamp? Charlie Sheen? Lady Gaga? Yourself?
Hoping to boost sagging revenue, the U.S. Postal Service on Monday abandoned its longstanding rule that stamps cannot feature people who are still alive and is asking the public for suggestions.

Y'know, I think Freepers may have a few suggestions.

If the choice is Lady Gaga, Charlie Sheen or myself, I would put Lady Gaga on the stamp because she has been the most successful. Sheen is an idiot and me....I am an average salary family man just trying to make it so hardly stamp material.

Herman Cain. A real American.

USPS may be onto something here. Let celebrities pay to have their mugs on stamps. I wouldn’t mind sending a letter with a Justin Bieber or Bette Midler stamp, if it meant I could still get my Saturday mail.

I say put a picture of a prostitute on the stamp....it will cost 46 cents at the post office, but if you want to lick it, it will cost 20 bucks.

I believe this is all about Obama. Remember the schools being named for him before the inaguration? They need to get this to happen while there is still a shadow of the hype of hope and change alive.
I think even the most far left liberals know deep down inside that by the time he is gone, there will be no one who would consider him to be on a stamp. And all the schools that were named for him will all have been quietly renamed as well by the time of his death.
To: Slings and Arrows
Thomas Sowell for sure. Stephen Hawking, amazing man that ticks me off, but I can’t deny how amazing he is. Bah! It is too late for Dr. Michael Elias DeBakey.
Do they need to be Americans? If not, maybe Margaret Thatcher, Daniel Hannan (sorry, just LOVE that speech of his)

Of course it will be Obama and the USPS is right, they will probably sell a bunch of them. They would be smart to release a General Swartzkoff stamp or someone on the other side at the same time.

They should have a stamp series of teenage girls taking cellphone camera Facebook profile shots of themselves. We can bury them in time capsules so future civilizations will have an idea of what went wrong with ours.

How about this idea. You get to choose what to put on your stamps but we get to choose alternative postal service companies to get our mail instead of being stuck with a monopoly.

Suggestions? Sure do! If the post office needs money why not sell a spot on the postage stamps? Pay a million dollars and get your face on one issue of stamps. Second issue, double the price and no more spots for former buyers for the next few years.
Or maybe instead of faces company logos. Or cancellation stamps with a persons name on it if they buy a special envelope.
