My daughter is eleven and she knows of several girls her own age that wear thongs. They also wear padded training bras. Juniors can actually be the size for many middle school girls. It unfortunately isn’t the same world as when we were kids!

When the local school tried to put it’s foot down on girls showing so much of their g-string underwear in class that it was disruptive, and banned the underwear (if it was flashed in class the girl was sent home to change) the young teen girls picketed the school carrying signs that said something like ‘keep your minds off my panties and focus on my education!’ *facepalm*

Considering that the American Psychological Association tried to ‘normalize’ this behavior with barely a whimper a while ago, why are people complaining now?
More than a whimper. If there was only a whimper they would have succeeded and will no doubt try again> People complained then and people are complaining now. I think that a degree of political correctness in Hollywood and MSM protects rich, powerful gay pedophiles even more than that which protects rich, powerful hetero pedophiles.

I was referring specifically to where the lingerie is advertised. I do not see it listed as being for girls “7-16” and therefor it is misleading to say it is being marketed to little girls, at least at the link that was provided.
That being said, what kind of parents let little girls wear thongs and other sexually suggestive clothing? Where are their heads? What the heck is wrong with these people?
I am not THAT old. My daughter is only 19, and we would never have allowed such a thing when she was little and that wasn’t so long ago.

There are plenty of instances where we should be outraged at the marketing behavior of certain clothing stores. This just isn’t one of them.

We don’t either. However, there is pressure from the ones who look so grown up on the other kids. I don’t recall wearing “adult” stuff like make-up, wearing high heels etc.. when I was a kid until the high school years. However, young girls are being allowed to do such things by parents who haven’t got a clue (IMHO). It is crazy!
