Conference on the Constitutional Convention (Sept 24/25)
Con Con Con ^ | 8/11/2011 | Self

Posted on 08/08/2011 12:46:09 PM PDT by NowApproachingMidnight

On September 24th, people from across America and across the political spectrum will convene at Harvard University to discuss the advisability and feasibility of organizing towards a Constitutional Convention. The conference's lead organizers are both proponents and opponents of an Article V convention and we actively encourage the participation of those who support a convention and those who oppose holding a convention at all.

Socialists will love a new constitutional convention. Entitlements for all! I’m sure they’re already channeling FDR and perusing his second bill of rights.

What a nightmare a COn Con would be! The majority of voters in this country are damned fools as witnessed by the election of the downgraded president. Of course, if you’re hell bent on destroying the country there’s no better way to do it.

Don’t forget that the purpose of the last Constitutional Convention was to “modify” the Articles of Confederation. The last thing we need is to turn loose a bunch of pseudo-intellectuals who were educated in today’s university system.

I was wondering how long it would be before the idea of a constitutional convention would be floated.

If they get a shot at the Constitution this nation will truly become a slave state.

Resist!

This event would be open warfare. After decades of whipping up hate the media-driven mobs of the “entitled” and moochers would be out of control. And there are no more Washingtons, Hamiltons, or Madisons available.

A concon should be threatened.

We are increasingly ruled by ever smaller groups such as the twelve Superdudes and Hussein, and regulatory agencies.

There's a Balanced Budget Amendment which passed the House, sitting on Dingy Harry's desk. It is an outrage this despot will not present that which passed the People's House to the floor of the Senate for a vote.

But there are plenty of Brownings and Smiths and Wessons.

That is what it will come down to which is completely different than what we need. There was no question of the original convention being in danger from the mob.

When did this happen? Did it pass the House by a 2/3 majority? Because that's what's required - as well as being passed by 2/3 of the Senate - to forward it to the States.

The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, ....

My emphasis.

“A concon should be threatened.”

The Roosevelt generation and their kids, the baby-boomers have been threatening and abusing the generations that will succeed them ever since they inherited power.

They shall not complete their mission, which is the destruction of post-reformation Western Civilization.

Tell that to my brother baby boomers whose names are on the Wall.

Yes a ConCon is a poor idea right now. We might end up with a brand new Constitution minus the 1st, 2nd and 10th ammendments.

Your brother baby-boomers whose names are on the wall never got a chance to inherit political power - they gave their lives doing their duty. The Rooseveltian generation that sent them to their destruction in an ill-fated war and the baby-boomers that assumed power in ‘92, have stated their aim to demolish the civil society and replace it with a system of their own making, therefore; I do not trust either of those generations to participate in a Constitutional Convention.

If you look to take offense with that, you are just looking to take offense.

Nope—no constitutional convention. That will not be allowed.

You paint with too broad a brush. There is no monolithic boomer generation walking lock-step toward a communist dictatorship.

“You paint with too broad a brush. There is no monolithic boomer generation walking lock-step toward a communist dictatorship.”

Never said the boomer, and preceeding Roosevelt, and World War I, generations were “monolithic ... generations walking lock-step toward a communist dictatorship.”- but that the progressive elements of these three generations have prevailed electorally for 80 -100 years cannot be denied. And because of this, these MAJORITY liberal, progressive generations cannot be allowed to have a crack at re-writing our Constitution, and saddling our posterity with whatever progressive remake of the United States of America they plan.

In time, these generations will pass, and our defending of the Constitution, and Declaration, and the rights of the individual declared and defended therein; will be honored by the succeeding generations whose rights and property are now at risk.
