I had a near platoon of uncles in the Army in WWII - I'm proud of every one of them - the nicest guys you could ever meet but lions in battle! Purple Hearts all around.

When i retired the first time in ‘99 we had to do the silly roll up with the cuff covering the rolled up sleeve, unlike the Marines who didn’t have to put up with BS roll up rules. Then when i went back in 2006 they had the no roll up rule which was complete BS on a hot frigging day. These uniform nazis are always the guys that have the nice pressed uniforms and spend their time in air-conditioning.

I am a little bitter about the Army coming up with this hoo-hah thing...any Jarhead knows your war face can only be accompanied by ooooo-rah!Interesting; I'm old Army and never heard of hoo-hah until recently seeing the Army troops saying it.
Hey, get over it; Semper Fi from an old Army guy..:=)

It is two armies, one handles all of it’s own support, which dilutes the percentage of personnel in combat arms and overall statistics, the other leaves out the navy personnel that performs much of it’s support and it devotes much effort to maintain a constant marketing campaign.

Cool your jets, dogface. We're all on the same side. Take your B.S. to the EM club.
Boys, boys, let's keep it civil.
Don't make me put you both in the front leaning position!

Didn’t the army decide a few years ago to give every soldier a beret to make them feel better and improve their self-esteem? Maybe by letting them wear Marine camo they figure they can try it again.

Ummmm. O.K.
I’ll play.
I’ll bet I was at Ft. Polk when you were filling your first diaper.
Also, welcome aboard FR to you and NWFLConservative.
We like boots around here.

You busted me. I guess I don't do the inter service rivalry gig very well. I'm Army, my son is a Marine. We need to focus on who the bad guys are. Thanks for your service. Going to assuage my shame with a can of ****-heads and strawberries. ;)

Bless your heart...we all bleed red, white and blue!!!!
After the Corps I got into gov contracting and worked with so many retired Army folks I thought my Eagle, Globe and Anchor tattoo was fading (I even caught myself saying "Roger that" one day), but the one thing I took from that was there was not one of them I would not share a fighting hole with.
Anyone current or former service knows that IS the ultimate respect, right?

Is that the reason USMC (ret.) Colonel Bill Cowan made the statement on live TV that the best trained troops on the ground in SW Asia were U.S. Army Rangers?

Ever notice how much Multi-cam looks like the camo pattern used by the German Fallschirmjäger troops from WWII? My dad detested the Japanese, for he fought against their navy in the South Pacific... But I remember as a kid his telling us that the Germans, for all of their faults, had the best uniforms in the field.
