People who live in places where it rains regularly, have no idea what we deal with. (hell, some Texans don’t)
Not really...
I saw the news this morning and knew the discussion was on here at FR this morning...
There is New Bruanfels where there is a tube riding river that a lot of people go to on weekends like that, lots of camping, drinking, grilling, fornicating...You know the usual orgy of silliness...
They’ve really cracked down on that area and commercialized the heck out of it where it is not that much fun anymore to go, and more expensive to boot...
I’d just assume stay clear of that county and take my holiday somewhere else...Yes, it stinks that they could not come up with a better plan, but when you really get down to it, why take the chance with all the reduced inhibitions, increased alcohol consumption, questionable common-sense and cobine that with fireworks, fire pits, grilling with the drought conditions across the state...
Not a good combo...Just my opinion...
I don't think you understand how dry it is here. In my about 50 years of rememberance, I can not remember ever being this remotely dry. I hate government intervention as much as the next conservative, but I'd have to agree on this one.
I was only joking with my “We lost Texas” comment! Just being melodramatic for humorous effect.
UPDATE: Heard on the news that a judge in that county lifted the grill ban on the 4th as long as the grill has a lid where flames or embers can’t escape. Makes sense.
