Is Internet sex cheating? Many folks say yes
From Associated Press ^ | June 07, 2011 | JOCELYN NOVECK

Jon Austin's wife, Amy, had a blunt assessment for her husband as the Minneapolis couple watched Rep. Anthony Weiner's stunning confessions on television this week.

"You'd be dead," she told him.

Regardless of his professional future, it's Weiner's predicament at home that seems to be launching countless discussions among couples like the Austins. And this time, it's not a question of actual physical cheating — a la Eliot Spitzer and his prostitution scandal — but the murkier backdrop of Internet relationships: sexting, tweeting lewd photos, emailing.

"And men, Hayes adds, may be more vulnerable to the lure of Internet relationships ..."

Wait. Doesn't there have to be a cheating female at the other end for the man to be contacting? That comment makes no sense.

A simple rule of thumb:

If you would feel awkward (or fearful) explaining it to your spouse, or having her explain it to you, chances are it's prudent not to.

Easy answer.

What did Christ say about adultery of the heart?

Honestly, the world is too stupid and cruel these days.

Ya doubled up there. Let me fix that a bit fer ya.

Doesn't there have to be a cheating (we don't need this word added, doesn't it just go without saying?) female at the other end for the man to be contacting? That comment makes no sense.

If you would feel awkward (or fearful) explaining it to your spouse,

For engineering types, that may not be a good enough filter. I was perfectly comfortable explaining why an automatic transmission was in the bathtub..... I wound up trying to catch well-thrown cast iron skillets. ;)

Of course it is.

It’s a type of lazy flirting or foreplay. A throwback to the days of pen pals and poetry.

It’s also a cheap thrill - no dinner, dressing up or motel expenses;)

Some time back, and maybe it was JPII, but he issued a statement or it was reported on the news that the pope said or wrote it is wrong; just because it didn't make it into the catechism doesn't mean it's not a sin.

My personal opinion apart from that is it is wrong except between a husband and wife provided it doesn't cross certain lines of perversion. Jesus said if you look on a woman with lust in your heart, you have committed adultery with her. Surely it means women, too. That pretty well settled it. Thought sins. And acting on those thoughts and lewd conduct is a matter of magnitude.

Will leave it at that, just my take on it, first time i've commented on it, am sick of it because there are other issues in the news where we don't need distractions such as this which is part of why I think the media is milking the thing for all it's worth.

If you have to ask “is it cheating?”- it’s probably not a good idea.

It would depend on what the word “IS” is.

Get with the program; he may be gay, transgendered, transexual, etc......this is Today's Society, not natural human morality.

"You'd be dead," she told him.

Dick Armey is a very "enlightened" man and should be nominated for quote of the year. This is the statement made by Texas Republican Member of the House, Dick Armey, who was asked by a Reporter, "If you had been in President Clinton's place, would you have resigned?"

He responded.... "If I were in the President's place, I would not have gotten a chance to resign ... I would be lying in a pool of my own blood hearing Mrs. Armey standing over me saying...'How do I reload this damned thing?'"

Is Internet sex cheating?

There is a simple question that provides the answer.

Are you able to tell your spouse what you are doing?

It is hard to believe that a married man who flirts with distant women via telecommunications has no other intentions but “innocent” flirting. Weiner likely travels a lot. Women such as the Vegas dealer would be an easy hookup when he is in town.

I'm betting the whole sorry story of Anthony “hey little girl, you wanna see my” Weiner has not yet come out. Give it time.

It is also hard to believe a man who loves his bride would even think of another woman, especially someone newly married.

Anyone who will cheat & lie to their spouse will do so to everyone. Shouldn't that be an immediate disqualification for elected office?

So, I want to know: What the H@ll is wrong with the people of the Bronx & Queens, NY? Is Weiner indicative of the immorality of these places? Are they so dense they cannot identify a snake when they see & hear one? This was apparent long before Weinergate to anyone with more than a peanut brain.

I wound up trying to catch well-thrown cast iron skillets. ;)

Consider the specifications and tolerances of the unit you are interfacing with. Cast Iron skillet projectiles may be within operational parameters. Idiopathic departures from normal operations can be considered within specifications in some instances, and have been known to occur without warning or apparent cause. (8^D)

Two questions come to mind:

What were you and the transmission in question doing?

She hadn't just been skunked or something, had she?
