Lawyers for a West Point cadet who says bodyguards for soul singer Patti LaBelle beat him while he was waiting for a ride at a Houston airport released security video Thursday showing the student being pushed and punched by two men and a woman.

“gets cold-cocked by a celebrity security team”
Celebrity?
How about talentless, never-was, over-rated joke. Not a big fan of suing but in this case I hope he gets millions.
One time I would LOVE to be on the jury.
She’s probably lucky it was a Cadet and not a SEAL on his way back from Afghanistan or she might have had her “crack” security team tossed back through her limo window onto her lap.
Me, too. What a horrible display of conceit and selfishness. He may have been unaware of his space, but after finals at the Point, he was probably tired, relaxed from two drinks on the plane and ready to see his family. What a devastating thing to come home to and then be suspended from West Point. I hope he gets millions, but more than that, his medical treatment covered.
Wish they had been.
WTH????????
Typical celebrity behaviour. The queen of all “Miss Thangs”. She’s a washed up hag whose biggest claim to fame was a song about a New Orleans whorehouse (Lady Marmalade). And the cop who posed with her at the end of this vidoe should, at the very least, be reprimanded. Go for it, Mr. King, sue the living you-know-what out of this overrated bag.
lucky she didn’t sit on him.
he’d be dead.
If this isn’t a HATE crime, I don’t know what is. Then to see that used-up, has-been singer pose for pictures.....nauseating. She couldn’t get her butt out of the car to help the cadet but she sure took the time for pictures.
You don’t mess with O’s pals.
Oprah’s pals, that is.
I hope he makes her wish she were dead. This is horrible.
It appears he got a concussion from hitting the pillar. There was absolutely no reason to hammer on him like the bodyguards did. They appear to be a couple of thugs.
It was three of them and they could have simply backed him off to a longer distance or simply informed him to back off.
It appears he was on the phone and thought he was just being harassed when the guards immediately got physical.
He’ll get a call from her mouthpiece about settling out of court. He was no threat to them or her whatsoever from the video.
I smell a rat.
The Academy has always been about appearence and always will. You do anything to make the academy look bad and you’re toast.
Ha! I have no first hand experience, but have always assumed exactly as you state! Enlightening, +1.
And mine keeps ‘em in the 10 range at 50 feet. 38, 45, 9mm para. Better with a rifle. The great leveler to the pork effect. But I agree we could all use some Grav training and unarmed combat exercise.
A little karate, or some such can overcome the mounds of flesh effect.
Do appreciate the yankees observe- Houston not so southern any more— but aspects of it may respond to this outrage.
And why exactly these “security” personnel are not in JAIL along with The Fat Broad that ordered this Beatdown is Beyond me. And Cops wonder why Most People think they are nothing but Jack Booted Thugs, not only should the Cops be fired they should be Jailed for Misprison of a Felony, Accessory to a Street Crime, And Deprivation of Rights. The instant they chose not to enforce the Law, They became Accessories to the Crime. 10 Years in State prison is where they Belong. THE WHOLE BUNCH
bump for later viewing.
That doesn't sound like "suspended" that sounds like "expelled". Being expelled from a military academy during the junior or senior year usually involves active duty service until the 'debt' is repaid.
Who does LaBelle think she is, Martha Coakley?
That’s what I thought. I’m hoping it isn’t the case, but it sure sounds like it. His career was ended because he wandered into the wrong place with the wrong people. I can hardly stomach it.
Her first "hit" (ca early-1960s) was "I Sold My Heart to the Junkman." Need I say more?
The picture taking of LaBelle with the cops is simply detestable. I hope King has witnesses who come forward to testify as to the truth of what happened, as King doesn’t appear to be protected or served by police in this instance.
She’s gonna have to write a big fat check, that’s for sure. No doubt.
"King's attorney, John Raley, said Thursday that his client had been suspended from West Point as a result of the episode and placed in a "mentorship" program which will require active-duty status of at least a year."
It looks like the redshirted thug kicked him when down. Who is the man in the white cowboy hat? He and the green shirt guy hold off the red shirt at one point.
Vicious. Hope the red-shirt, at least, gets felony assault and battery charges made against him.
FUBU Obama justise, it looks like. Some West Point grads better make some inquiries—this video and the anti-white race thing of La Belle and presumably her bodyguards raise real questions.
If I was in charge, I'd send the person who suspended him to the Russian front with Klink.
Another disgusting “celebrity” with her entourage beating a man senseless and Houston PD is complicit in ruining this guy’s career as an Army officer. I am so pissed seeing this. She comes to my neck of the woods and I will organize a protest and boycott of any who dare to sponsor her.
I strongly suspect that there's a whole lot more to this story than we're being told.
Maybe they know more about the situation than we do.
LaBelle???????? That flat nosed Skank Hag!!!!
“But I agree we could all use some Grav training and unarmed combat exercise.”
Brazilian ju-jitsu is excellent training since most fights end up on the deck.
Or maybe they're infected with the same zero-tolerance stupidity as the rest of the state-run educational monolith.
Of course that's possible, but how? Another video tape? There were no police there during the attack. If they got anybody's side of the story, I would guess it was the cadet's and his story is that he did nothing.
I suspect it was a "zero tolerance" thing. Like zero tolerance for getting your ass kicked in an airport or something.
He's 23 years old and doesn't appear to be drunk, but I guess a couple drinks on the plane might be part of it.
King was verbally abusive when asked to move so LaBelle's people could load her luggage onto a cart.
And then King hit LaBelle's driver in the face.
And that's when the bodyguards moved in.
And King -- rather conveniently -- says "he could not remember what happened before or during the attack."
King's lawyer says he consumed "a few alcoholic drinks" -- that's the lawyer talking, so it's safe to assume that Mr. King was somewhat tipsy at the time.
“Hell get a call from her mouthpiece about settling out of court.”
One word, young man:
DON’T.
Go to trial and rip ‘em all a new one;)
Oh, and he played defense on the Army football team. He’s not a little guy, in other words.
Video is high-fidelity. What we have recorded on video is a young man of a particular race on a cell-phone, his attention not at all on the luggage or the celebrity entourage suddenly being assaulted by three big goons picked as bodyguards because of their race, not the young man’s race, and their personal intimidation factors. Then we hear of the police taking photos with the thug-hiring celebrity, known for her racist race-hatred comments, directed to the race of the young man. And then that the police are claimed “they smelled alcohol” on the young man of the current socially disfavored race.
Then we hear that the national Military Academy, whose Commander-in-Chief, is known for similar race hating statements, associations and actions, is now suspending and rebuking the young man of the disfavored race.
I know how to add. Do you?
The story, the reasons that the young man of the socially disfavored race was viciously beaten and is now under official rebuke, needs more PUBLIC explanation.
The video shows otherwise. He is small-framed, especially in comparison to the bodyguards.
And it isn't "rather convenient" that a person who suffers a concussion after getting his head smashed against concrete should experience some short term memory issues about the moments before and after the attack. It's to be expected.
I'm assuming the standards for acceptance to West Point are generally higher than those for being Patti LaBelle's bodyguard. Until I heard otherwise from disinterested third parties, I would tend to believe the cadet over the meathead who beat him.
“He was drunk” that’s the one size fits all, all-purpose smear to be pulled out in such situations, especially when the victim stumbles and falls. Disgusting!
Are you suggesting that the police report was falsified?
The lawyer admits that King "had a few drinks." I think he was more drunk than not.
