Good morning! There are seventeen months left until we retake the country, until November 2012. As far as I know Caligula is the only one who has declared for the RATS. The GOP field is shaping up with many contenders. Sarah Palin is on a JERK THE MEDIA AROUND bus tour in the Northeast and elsewhere to call attention to America's founding documents and our founding fathers and principles. She has promised her radio talk friends in Alaska that she would tell them first of her decision to run. That hasn't happened yet.
And in the hypocriscy department, Caligula's administration spends more money on limos than it does on Food Stamps. Everyone is equal, except some are more equal than others.
Here we go! Another month, a new thread.
I’m glad your surgery worked out well. I ruptured my L5S1 disk in 1990. In ‘97, I had a laminectomy and that was a good thing. Life returned to normal. I now have ruptured my L4L5 disk. A new one and I’m agreeing with you. But I think I’ll wait until I can get to the Philippines. They’re doing the more advanced work on spinal treatment.
Good morning! Happy June everyone. Soggy wet has been replaced with miserable hot here in NE Ohio. Heat index 98 yesterday. Well, soggy wet has not actually been replaced , it is still here...just muggy miserable now.
Busy next few months for me. Issues to decide upon & projects to complete & some travel here & there along the way.
With all the natural disasters lately it is hard to be excited with today being the beginning of the hurricane season.
Oh an HAPPY BIRTHDAY TONY SNOW! we miss you
/johnny
June is a very good month. Congratulations on the new addition. I’m busy working on baby things, but we won’t be seeing Piper Noelle until late September.
Dolly, prayers up for you in the coming season.
Oops! There is a rabbit out in the yard. At least they’re providing some fertilizer.
Good morning, Jemian
We hit triple digits today on the heat index. Oh, joy!
Wouldn’t be quite so bad if my AC didn’t go on the proverbial fritz over the weekend. Remembering pre-AC days .. shades drawn, light clothing, all fans going, drink lots of water, stay inactive. Or maybe I’ll just go hang out at a mall ;)
The temps have moderated from the near triple digits of Monday...we are seriously considering a/c!
I started the chicken condo last evening. I moved my chop saw out to the back of the shop where the construction site is located and Jack and I positioned the piers. Tonight, after his last Music Awards Banquet (Time sure flies!), I plan to build the platform and continue working until the Skeeters drive me inside.
I started a new album on Facebook for this project.
While working last night, I realized that after 41 years as an engineer/architect and 32 years as a soldier, I have finally degenerated to the point where I have become the general contractor to a flock of chickens!
Somewhere, back there, I lost the bubble!
Yup! I remember pre-AC. It is so humid here that shoes and books would mildew overnight. It is hotter here in the summer than it is in Sentani, Papua.
I have a bit of a headache. I do not like headaches. I’ve taken aspirin and I’m drinking water to make sure I’m hydrated. But I think I’ll be staying indoors today.
Yes, but your days are "your own." You have to do no man's bidding (except for Barb and Jack). You've lived the American Dream! Good on you! I'm signing off for a couple of hours to pay serious attention to this headache. If I can manage it now, I won't have to call in the heavy artillery.
You are so funny, Duke! You're doing what makes you happy.......a reward for all your previous hard and dedicated work.
Good morning, everyone.
Yes, apparently.
JRandom is expecting a granddaughter this month and we are expecting Piper Noelle (JT and the Bride) in late September.
Posted on May's thread
Jemian, baby stuff? did I miss an announcement?
Good morning everybody, thanks for the thread and ping Jem.
Toby, we ate out at a breakfast buffet this morning and I made it a point to have some grits. Good stuff!
Yeah! Congrats to you both! And to the parents, of course!
Hi Dolly and everyone. I just got back in from the ranch. Everyone is busy hauling water all dirt tanks and dirt overflows at the windmills are dry now so it is getting critical conditions. Albuquerque news last night said the dryest year on all record books. We haven’t seen rain since last September—long time without a drop. Had a wonderful weekend with all my kids and grandkids, and granddogs so now back to business. Dolly I realize you are “Ghost” but I just don’t have time to do any boards any justice, just try a little here. I have some busy work down at church and then off to get my hair cut and bank work this afternoon. Yes Jermain I am living for Nov. 12. NM is such a heavy Democrat state, but we did elect a really good conservative Republican Gov (Suzanna Martinez) who is making some really good changes. Maybe there is hope Denco

Jemian, Intense heat/humidity gives me headaches, too, unless I do absolutely NOTHING. (something I’m actually quite good at!)
Keep that water going and DO stay inside. We have a “red alert” telling all vulnerable categories (elderly/asthmatics, etc) to stay indoors. 105, as the index is here is 105, and has to be worse in AL.
Your advice is good and I'm following it to the letter.
Ed, where are you in VA? Are you near the district? We live in Chantilly....
Holding, we’re in Alexandria .... got thru the day, and late afternoon/early evening storms never happened but it DID cool off.
Today I called my boss and said it’s time for a last minute vacation decision and I’ll see you Monday.
I’m gonna learn to fish today
Gone Fishin' Bing Crosby and Louis Armstrong
What are y’all doing during summer vacation? Any trips?
MORNING!!! Been having a left infectiive eye problem, lots of doc visits, medications, better today but sensative. Looks like a part of me goes bad every week. Eye better today, hopefully to be back in full swing later this week.
The kids are preparing to take a trip to Fl in their travel trailer, been lookig for a car for Allie, might have found one in Alanta, a Mercades, hopefully will hear something today on it, it is a usd one but cute as a piece of pie. I tried to give her my pickup (old as the hills) but hey, what do pawpaws know anyhow.
Turning summer here on the coast.
The two boys are growing up fast, TJ mature as all get out, Caleb, wide open 24-7 That boy gets into everything, yesterday made an attemp to give the cats a bath, bad idea from the getgo cats one Calem 0.

Toby
My vacations are spent in my shack in the back, just want the kids to vacate together, I am happy in my shack,
Toby
Our day started off bad today, hot already and it is not even 8AM yet.
Toby
Cats 1!
Caleb 0!
I can just visualize that.
Yes, it is a scorcher week. Drink plenty of water.
Checking in, been traveling so little time to post. Hope all are well here.

Good morning! Things are well here. Watching Fox this AM. It seems as if one could skip the news for a week and not really miss anything.
Have safe travels, Prairie!
Good morning! I’m on the road again this time in Mississippi. I don’t travel well. Last night I had a discussion with a man about the Garden of Eden diet. Anyone heard of it? Toby,
I missed you yesterday.
We’re not too far from each other. Want to lunch sometime soon?
/johnny
LOL! She’s beginning to know you well. I bet it was tasty.t
Toby! I’ve been thinking of you this weekend. Friday I was in Starkville. Yesterday I went to Pearl and through Brandon. Today we went up to Louisville. Now, I’m in Meridian. Tomorrow we’ll get back home by way of Cuba and Demopolis (although those last two are in Alabama).
I had fresh ham from the yard, a zuchinni with onions (from the garden) and rice on the plates tonight. Of course, you can't have something like that without gravy made from the ham juices and a little bit of coffee. And why have great gravy, without home-made biscuits? Just wouldn't be right.
So the only major things I didn't grow on the property were the rice and the flour (coffee, salt, baking powders, &ct come from the store, too).
And I'm working on that.
/johnny
I think I coulda done the eatin’ w/o all the cryin’. Pigs is supposed to be et. We do ‘em a favor, takin’ ‘em offa the earth.
You amaze me.
(and notice how I didn’t say anything about how often your neighbor pops up in conversation?)
a)She is as pasty white as I am, therefore, she is NOT eligible for anything more than friendship.
ii) I'm done with he-ing and she-ing and all the related bovine excrement that goes with it.
3)She's old. Much older than me. Nothing against old people, I hope to be one. But get real, it's a no-go on the launch pad.
So I hope that settles your mind. We're thick as fleas, and bound to get pitched in a holding cell together at least once before we die. But single, celibate, and sane are my ongoing catchwords. And once I set my mind on something, I can be annoying as heck. ;)

Tee hee!
I am so glad that she has a brother who is willing to look out for her against predatory males. LOL! I have been told (by a man) that the last thing a man wants to hear is that he is considered “safe.” ;)

I allowed this sunrise to be a bit bigger today because the colors are so vivid.
A survivalist food website I know of talks about having 100 lb sacks of wheat and grinding flour. Whoa...
And I can't figure out how one could be self-sustaining on salt or coffee etc.
Glad you're finally enjoying Miss Piggy.
I'm off to catch up on the thread, we are at a stopping point for a couple of days.

Yes, you do, Dolly!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, till!!! Have a great day.

Toby, I've been missing you! I hope everything's okay.

I’ve been watching the local NBC affiliate. They’re doing a birthdayte club much like radio stations have done in an attempt to boost their ratings. My goodness, tv must be struggling to resort to that.
I hope the cable gets repaired soon.
So funny. The chickens will enjoy your work.
Thank you, Dolly.
Thank you, LB and Jem. Yes, it is that day...again, thank goodness.
