In-N-Out Burger Opening at Firewheel Town Center in Garland, TX
Apartment Ninjas ^

In-N-Out, the cult California burger chain is finally making its way to Texas. The family owned business, which does not accept franchises, has been reluctant to expand beyond the West Coast…Until Now! In-N-Out has unveiled plans to open at the Firewheel Town Center in Garland, TX.

In-N-Out Burger truly is the cat’s meow, and best known for its not-so-secret basic menu and fresh, high-quality ingredients; it holds the cachet of Manhattan’s famed Shake Shack, with the efficiency of a McDonald’s. They cook your food as you’re ordering (I’ve seen it, wasted…in Vegas, animal-style), so you’re literally in and out.

>>I’m from Cali, and yes, In-N-Out is extremely popular....but, “cult”? LOL<<

Believe it or not, it comes close.

There is a whole “not on the menu”-speik (such as “triple triple,” “animal style,” etc.) and the fact it has always been family owned, doesn’t publish its financials, hasn’t changed their “official” menu darn near since inception, won’t franchise, insists on fresh ingredients, exposes the making to the eyes of the public, etc. makes it pretty close.

My little brother moved to TN and when he is back in town (Los Angeles) he plans his entire visit around In-N-Out.

But you aren't a true In-N-Out aficionado until you order off the ‘secret menu’.

I had to search "secret menu" . . .

Well, alright. I suppose that some folks can become obsessed with anything. I just always thought they made a decent hamburger .. LOL

Family owned for over 60 years. Fresh baked buns every day. Only just cut fresh potatoes used for their fries. Fresh, not frozen beef burgers. And the friendliest staff you could ever hire. Good attitudes and service with a smile. Their managers have a fantastic compensation package and are paid well for a reason. And they are paid to hire to the In-N-Out standard and uphold the quality of the food and the service.

And the scripture is just awesome!:)

I tried 2 different 5 Guys and I thought it was of average taste and way too expensive.

On the scale, In-N-Out is a 10, Whattaburger is a 7, 5 Guys is a 5. Oh, Tommy’s (also a So. Cal. icon) is a 8.5. Carl’s/Hardees is a 6.5

Years ago they used to pass out bumper stickers, and as often as not they got 'doctored'...

Whataburger has gone downhill since I moved here.

I prefer to compare only “name locations” ~ you can always find a bad hamburger somewhere ~ but some shops never let that happen. The two I compared are THE BEST.

They pay well for a burger joint.

Managers, as often as not, exceed 100K annually.

It’s no accident they chose Texas, a lot of Californians have moved to Texas in the past few years.

Within 5 years, In-N-Out will relocate from California to Texas.

That'd be a major, major move.....I dunno about the Southern California headquarters campus, but you can see the Northern center up in Stockton while driving the I-5.....makes the Pentagon look tiny.

When my brother flew back to California for Mom’s funeral, he actually timed his flight so that he’d be able to stop at In-N-Out before closing on his drive from LAX out here to the desert.

I can understand that — it ain’t a cult but it as close as you can get for a food joint :)

I haven't seen anything like this here in the Metroplex, since the first IKEA came here.
