I eat at Five Guys quite often, but I think their quality has dropped some in the last few years. I also think that they are doing burgers a huge disservice by not having shakes (and probably giving up substantial profits there too).

I've only been to In-n-Out a few times, but I loved it and thought it was a lot better than Five Guys.

My wife and I went to visit the inlaws in CA. SHe introduced me to In and Out burgers in 2007. It is the first meal, and last meal before coming home. Double double? Oh yeah!

The ‘lettuce wraps’ are amazing too — you can get that instead of the bun.

We used to love In and Out and at at there when they had exactly ONE and no inside seating. It was fabulous. We just got back to Texas from a trip to California and ate at the In and Out in Stockton and it was not good at all. The order took a long time, the bread was dry, the meat blah. The Fries were really tasteless. I don’t know if it was just an anomoly or this one place or what. Five Guys is much better and Freddy’s is much, much better. Del Taco is still good though.

I’ve never been to an In N Out but I have been to a Five Guys. What a disappointment. It was horrible.

And Trader Joe’s is coming to Texas as well. West Coasters are crazy over that.

I think we should call them “In and Stuck” until the newness wears off. And until that time, I will be avoiding that entire area. It’s crowded enough at that particular location in Allen w/o I&O crazies lining up.

My sister lives in Burbank and when I’m not working in Alaska, I live in Redding.

Both In-N-Outs (NoCal and SoCal) = Excellent taste and fresh ingredients. I do have to wait at the one in Redding as that it the only In-N-Out within 200 miles so it’s ALWAYS packed.

I think you should report the crappy Stockton restaurant to corporate.

I’m tempted to drive to Frisco on Friday to get In and Out, but will probably wait till the Irving/Las Colinas one opens as it is closest for us. We live in Coppell and hubby works at The Four Seasons which is down the street from the In and Out being built right now. We are patently waiting to give it a try.

If it were possible to do so, my wife would live at Trader Joes. She loves the place.

They have Bible passages printed unobtrusively on the bottom of their fry package.

One of my favorites is....

“He who breaks bread with me, he shall be my brother.”

I didn’t know that about Phil Mickelson. He has certainly had some tough times over the last few years.

Yes, the Bible verses started when Rich Snyder, the younger son, took over. Rich became a born again Christian and for the rest of life short life, he loved the Lord Jesus. He loved Children, he supported several charities, even started a Child Abuse charity. The good people in this world die young....and he is an example. The entire company admired him.
The Older son was a bit more wild and not into the company as much and he often fought with the younger son. But when Rich died in the Jet Crash Guy, the older son was crushed. Some very sad tragic elements to the IN N OUT history.

Great news for you guys! I’ll be curious as to the logistics involved regarding the (always fresh) ingredients. That’s a long truck haul for two stores.

IN N OUT will provide good jobs, they pay higher than minimum wage

I understand that a store manager can easily make 6 figures.

It is the first meal, and last meal before coming home

When my Mom died, Georgia brother and his wife flew out here to California for the funeral. On the drive in from LAX they stopped for Double Doubles; they did the same thing (comfort food) shortly after the service.

ate at the In and Out in Stockton and it was not good at all

That's surprising, given that In-N-Out's northern California distribution center is right there....a huge place.

Thanks. Actually, what made this move significant is that IN N OUT had to find a meat processing plant in Texas for the reasons you stated. They will start by using an existing plant, I believe it is near Ft. Worth but I expect them to build their own.

Very significant move here. It will open up new markets for them in the South and a bit East. They will not truck meat for than 500 miles so that is why it took going on 2 years from the time they announced...or year and half at least.
