We moved to Dallas from Southern California 2 years ago. It's been 2 long years and the wait is almost over. I expect it to be a huge opening based on everyone talking about it. Finally. The wait is almost over.

Get in line early, it’s going to be packed.

Enjoy the Double Double and Choc Shake.

My mouth is watering already. No In-n-Out in Alaska :-(

In-N-Out is also coming to Arlington (Parks Mall area by the IHOP) by years end. Bring it...I’m ready for my Double-Double since leaving Kalifornia in ‘84.

Yeah, we probably won’t get there until around 5:00 p.m. Hopefully the line will be down but probably it won’t be since that when so many people will be there for dinner.

Reading a great book about the history of IN N OUT burger. Truly an amazing classic American success story, but with some tragedy since the 2 sons are passed away too. One in a company jet crash, the other from a prescription drug O.D.
So the family is all gone. Mom, Dad, and 2 sons. But what a legacy. They started in 1948 and have only added one item to their menu in all that time.....7/up. A fascinating book about this IN N OUT’s history: http://www.amazon.com/-N-Out-Burger-Behind-—Counter-Fast-Food/dp/0061346721/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1305029315&sr=1-1

All the years I have eaten at IN N OUT, since around 1968 when they put up a location in Hacienda Heights, CA just 3 blocks from where I grew up.........Never had a double double. IN N OUT is the ONLY burger joint I get a cheeseburger. I typically only get a regular hamburger at 5 guys or Carl’s Jr.

But that IN N OUT cheeseburger seems to be perfection. The book says PGA Phil Mickelson eats at IN N OUT so often, the sports reporters tell him maybe he should ease up on the “double doubles” when he’s in a slump.

The Book also says Bob Hope had an IN N OUT burger once, and from then on, he enjoyed it so much, he had to have one weekly. When they put an IN N OUT near his Toluca Lake home in North Hollywood, Hope loved to drive thru and chat with the employees.

I have only one suggestion for all of these fast food restaurants. How about better bread?

We were in Bonaire and ate at a Whataburger. The bread was **delicious**!! The bread was chewy on the outside and fresh and soft on the inside. I was excited to try Whataburger when we returned to the states, but I was disappointed. It was the same pasty bread used by all the chains. It must be that in Bonaire, being a tiny island, they must get their bread from a local bakery.

Actually, ironically, some people say it is the IN N OUT Bun that helps make it such a quality burger. Of course the bun is the first thing that we bite into so it’s important. And IN N OUT buns, according to their wrappers on the burgers..the buns are preservative free and they use only “real sponge dough.”
Here are some other tidbits about IN N OUT:

IN N OUT used only Real Ice Cream in their shakes. No preservatives.

5. Since 1948, IN N OUT Fries are prepared in cholesterol free trans fat free vegetable oil. Peeled each day fresh. They use Kennebec potatoes.

6. IN N OUT buns are made with NO preservatives and using real sponge dough.

7. IN N OUT hand leafs it’s lettuce everyday.

I miss In N Out Burgers. Good stuff.

We had a place here in Denver called, “Walk In Burgers.” They were great, but just closed last month.

Well..That is true, but it still the same type of bun found in the other chains. It has the texture of the typical Wonder Bread roll.

And Carls Jr is opening in Texas too — great for all those who moved east. Now in return, if Black Eyed Pea would open here in Southern California, this expat Texan would be happy!

Yes, actually, Carl’s Jr has been open here in Texas for a few months now. And when they had their grand opening in Houston, Carl’s said it was their biggest opening in company history.
The one here in Lewisville is doing very well. At night, the line in the drive thru is busy.

Karl Karcher and Harry and Esther Snyder of IN N OUT became life long friends after Harry went to see Karl to ask him about starting a burger joint. The Snyders and Karchers were good people.....giving substantially to various charities and causes. All gone now. Good people.

Always looking for a nice vacation spot. We’ve been to St Barts and St Lucia.

Looked at going to Aruba until Natallie Holloway... Bonaire might be a good substitute.

Any good resorts on the island?

As a DaLlasite/Texam idont like the idea of these California businesses and expats moving here.

These burger joints face stiff competiton from Whataburger, which takes a ton of pride in its Texas’ roots and all of the fantastic steak joints that can be found on just about every corner here.
