"We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!" President Bush
The big news of the day is the death and burial at sea of Osama bin Laden. Thank you, President Bush and the US military (including my son and future son-in-law) who made this day happen. Other news is the nuptials of William and Catherine in Great Britain. May God bless their union and draw them close to Him in Jesus Christ. Alabama (my state) and other southeast states continue the task of digging out and rebuilding. A massive effort is underway with able bodies and supplies needed.
It is a good day
It is a VERY good day.
Ping to the list!
Ping to some special people. Toby, be sure to check in here and say hello. I’ve missed chatting with you on a daily basis.
Now, in order to make it work, we need to post here every day. Just tidbits of life, but it needs to be consistent and we need participation.
Jemian, thanks for starting this thread. It is a favorite of mine.
Hope you and your family are doing fine. Are you in the USA or on mission for the Lord?
I am recovering from major surgery with the blessings of many prayers of family and friends. Getting stronger everyday.
So happy that Bin Ladin is dead. Former President Bush gave a strong statement, so clear and complementary to the military, unlike the me, me, statement of O’s.
Prayers for the USA !!
Thank you so much. I miss the thread here so much. Life has been a big-ole-rat race. We have just finished branding 600 hd.of calves and now today must get to as many pastures as possible to make sure everything is okay and all Mama’s have their babies by there sides. Once again Thanks for doing this here. I like it so much better.
I am glad that you're recovering from surgery. When was it? Was it a surprise or something you knew was developing?
Yes, this is definitely something to Bush's credit and not our current poser. It was intel gathered at Gitmo that aided this operation. Frankly, I am surprised he was buried-at-sea so quickly. I would have liked to see the body. As it is the admin is asking us to trust them when they have proven so untrustworthy. Nonetheless, it is a good day for America.
I'm listening to Todd Beamer's father. He is saying my thoughts.
Good idea Jemian, thank you.
Good morning everybody. I will try to post as much as possibly even though life will be getting very crazy around here in the next few weeks.
Well, well, Osama bin Ladin is finally no longer exchanging atmospheric gases. Good work for the good guys. Not including Obama in that, though.
I’m off to read a few articles on this, have a great day everybody.
Thank you for your encouragment. Life has been a rat race lately. April just absolutely flew by for us. The beginning of it involved eye surgery for me underwritten by a family friend. Most people can just rebound from the surgery but it took me a few extra days. There was nothing wrong that occurred but the healing took longer.
Then there was the Palm Sunday, Holy Week and Easter celebrations. Except it started a week prior to Palm Sunday with our daughter performing in the choir of Verde’s Requiem.
All throught this I was working with a virus on my computer. I tried everything to remove it but in the end I had to reformat and reinstall. I’m still in the process of reinstalling and tucking the files I use into their proper places. That is tedious.
For us, Wednesday was very big day. We watched the weather radar closely and made all the possible preparations. Having done that, we waited and trusted God. We were blessed. As the squall lines approached our town, Auburn, AL, the storms either dissipated or separated going north and south of us. We had about a 20 minute rain and that is all. It is north Alabama which was hit and is in the process of digging out. So much work is to be done.
Denco, I meant to add that I really am enchanted by your life. If I had my druthers, I would be doing exactly what you are doing. Please keep telling us the tales of your ranch life.
Thanks, Prairie. You said life will be getting very crazy. My question is “when is it not crazy?” There may be days it is less crazy than others but crazy seems to be just normal.
Thanks, I love my life also. Now that I am older & after many surgeries I can no longer ride, but I drive feed truck in front of cattle when gathering so makes me feel useful(ha-ha)
Good Morning Everyone! The corn planters are finally rolling in SE Iowa. Unfortunately the temperment of those behind the wheel is still a bit ‘surly’, due to the lateness of the planting season.
I am headed outside to dig a few bags of Daisy to deliver to a friend of mine for transplanting in her gardens.
Wishing everyone an extra Happy Day!!
Good morning, Gran. Is your work in Des Moines in recess, at least until plantings done? What’s going on with the Mississippi in your area?
hey good to see you & an excellent idea of a monthly thread.
I personally cannot get onto the other site. Did inform 3 people but never got info back. My password no longer works
Maybe I am getting subtle hints? Just like never knowing about it initially?
Well, I am very busy in life & on the web & time is rare. this will be a nice way to keep up with each other for those who also never knew about the other place, who cant seem to log on or just don’t want to mess with another forum
Thinking about you & your EYES.. I met you in Ga a few days prior to your surgery. so glad so far is good results.
You will be returning to Indonesia this summer still? I have a QuakeFeed ap on my iPhone. Always seems to be rock & rolling there, although most are small.
BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD!
LET GOD ARISE AND HIS ENEMIES BE SCATTERED!
hi there ma’am. I complain about changing the cat box & you brand 600 cattle.
my I am a wimp.
I see your name lurking “elsewhere” now & then. I too am busy & dont visit & post like I should
You go girl!
Yes! This is a day for much rejoicing. It was a long time coming but come it has. Our timing is not God’s timing and His purposes are being worked out up this earth. We can rest in His sovereignty.
WHAT WE NEED IS PARTICIPATION! People need to stop by regularly and just tell us what is happening with them and interaction with each other. Most of our other threads on FR are about specific topics, but this thread is about us. Therefore, each of us are needed to make it work.
Oh! I forgot much of my reply. Yes, you saw me just days before the surgery. At that time, it hadn’t even been scheduled so I didn’t mention it to much as so often I get offered glorious things and yet, for one reason or another, it just doesn’t pan out. PTL, this did.
We do plan to return this summer. We need about $7K to do it. We’ll officially be there for two years before another furlough but we’ll return for personal time, seeing our new grandbaby and then for the youngest’s wedding in 2012.
understand. However you cant bully or shame people into participating. They must see something they want & that will be the draw.
I however still have my FR stalker & so personally do not share much that could AND HAS resulted in problems in my life. I do post elsewhere in a protected thread...
I do NOT know his screen-name but know he checks out my posts due to his showing up & participating WITH ME physically if he knows any of my plans. He is not dangerous I am sure, but annoying & gives me the creeps.
I used to share a lot at Amy’s place, cant any longer
I can share some things however. Facebook for me has been an interesting and good thing. Protect also there who sees your stuff. If someone gets wierd, they are GONE with the Wind!
See most of my FR closer contacts there if not at TRR.
Okay, busy day. Must get going!
You are right about bullying, etc. I do want to encourage people to participate because each one adds something. I am not a draw. I don’t have that type of personality. I’m more like person who is on the sidelines cheering others on to posts of greatness and then adding, “what he said!”
I just want to emphasize to all who may be lurking, you are important and what makes you smile will likely make someone else smile, too.
It is a pity about the stalker. I have had a few clingers-on in my life. I understand the challenge.
Another shout-out to you, FRiend.
I think you are a “big draw”. Your knowledge, sense of humor, serious/lyrical.. when appropriate responses and posts are always interesting & fun.
Yes, you are a cheerleader also & also have a lot of love of friendships & loyalty and that is why you are trying hard to ring in the wanderers from ATRW along the way
always wonder about the Chair, illstillbe, others
thanks again Jem
before you leave USA you need to make a trip to his (Toby) place & help him with his computer (as you love this type of work so much...LOL) & make sure he can find both places.
I wish I could have visited with him & others on my swing into Ga but timing with my travel partner & his musical gigs was the limiting factor
THANKS TONS FOR YOUR KIND WORDS DEAR HEART.
CLEANSING STREAMS was quite cleansing . . . nothing greatly new but deeper, broader imho.
Left with a new resolve and sense of lightness, overcoming spirit and attitude etc.
Folks noticed a much improved countenance and burdens lifted.
I just saw a video about bases being closed down.
Certainly it is likely the Jihadi’s are going to be loosed on us with major devastations sooner than later.
Walking with God will not be ‘optional’ for those who
All other choices will be death.
LET US ALL BE ABOUT THE MASTER’S BUSINESS.
LET US LOVE GOD SUPREMELY THOROUGHLY AND OTHERS AS OURSELVES.
FWIW . . . receingly received links:
Also unconfirmed video recorded earlier today.
If this video report is correct suddenly sleeps with fishes means high alerts all over the world.
GOD BE WITH YOU, DEAR SISTER.
I just now checked with a soldier who is at our home. He has received no orders to return to post. OTOH, I do know that the State Department has issued a world-wide travel alert and ex-pats who dwell in predominantly moslem countries need to be extra vigilant.
Dad is better than he's been in years. Helped me plant potatoes and certainly has enjoyed checking the chickens with Rascal dog. We've had so much rain he doesn't get to go out as often as he wishes.
Shamelessly stolen from a friend on FB and attributed to from Frank Daniell.
I can only speak of those young people I know. NONE of them think the WOT is over. Two of them are actively engaged in that war.
I figured a realty check would flow in soonish.
There's an old saying about you don't miss the water 'till the well runs dry.
Lord knows I've missed ATRW.
Thank you, Jemian.
You’re welcome, dahlink!
Are you planning any special feast in celebration of OBL’s death? Recipes, please.
I wound up with a small commercial pig in a barter exchange, and I'm currently bootlegging it here in the back yard in the city. When it gets a little older, it goes to the freezer. (or sooner, if I get caught by the city)
The old frenchman has chickens, and is getting eggs.
Life is ok. I can't complain.
Pork roast with coffee gravy. Served with white wine, of course.
My husband is on his way over to celebrate with you.
Yes it is.
Hi, B4. Still celebrating here, but considering how it will affect our troops as well. We have someone departing for Afghanistan later this month.
Where are you residing these days? Are you still in your previous location or have you moved to the left coast?
yes indeed. I find that very odd.
Glad to see you here. So much to talk about, but I'll save it for a time when I can digest it to you all. (Mom passed away a few weeks ago.) Lots have happened since then.
This is good news to eradicate evil.
Thank you Jemian for this thread.
I also had trouble getting into the other site. Would not give me a password. Don’t know the reason for the change in the first place.
Nice to see familiar names again.
Northern Yankee - sorry to hear of your Mother’s death. Am wondering what all else is going on in your life.
Was her death sudden or had she been ill? I still think of my mother every day of my life.
I truly hope to see people posting again. It is the camaraderie that I miss when changes occur.
I’m signing off for the evening. I’ve been thinking of you all day. I hope to see you here soon.
