Thanks for your input. Just for fun, here are 2 more songs by the same songwriter. If you comment, please refer to the name of the song since there are now more than one.

Yes, I’ve been watching Papa’s postings of Jackie’s Houston performances in total awe and wonder. He seems to be releasing one a day right now.

The Evanchos have given him their blessings to release every song except Nessum Dorma, which apparently brought the house down, and practically blew the windows out of that old church.

My favorite of those released so far, is Nella Fantasia. I must have played that video a hundred times, the day Papa posted it.

I’ve become a hopeless Jackie Junkie in the last couple of weeks. I’m now an official member of Evanchoholics Anonymous. We feed each others’ addictions, you know ;-)

I like Nella Fantasia as well.

Have you heard ‘Lovers’ yet?

Papasmurf posted that one yesterday.

Yeah. I’m a JJ too.

If You Let Me is really good. She’s got a great voice. Whoever is playing guitar on these songs has got the tasty fills down pat. Not sure I agree with the gloopy phase shifter on the guitar throughout the song though. The dynamics of some of the instruments don’t sound as controlled as they should be. I think there needs to be more compression/limiting on individual instruments. Also the mix sounds a little dark to me, and I would like to hear more distinct placement of the instruments within the stereo spread (then again I’m listening thru crappy computer monitors). But I like the song and the performance.

Ocean Blue — flirts with being cheezy (canned ocean sounds, the “I don’t want to hurt you” passage in the lyrics) but is still pretty good. Again I’m impressed with her voice. She’s got a great vibrato. She’s like a cross between Carol Carpenter and the girl in Heart (can’t think of her name). In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me if she has problems shaking the rap that she doesn’t sound modern enough, that she’s too 70s. I like the period vibe though.

Thanks again for your input! I really appreciate your opinions. Many people have said that Michele sounds like Karen Carpenter or Ann Wilson from Heart.

Yeah, her voice is beautiful. I love hearing her sustain a note. And these songs are pretty good, pretty catchy.

Yes, I saw it not half an hour after he posted it.

I've watched "Lovers" at least a dozen times, and I must say that it's at a level of rendition that is mysterious and haunting. I haven't quite wrapped my head around it yet, but it sure is getting rave reviews on the forums.

Do you check in at Jackie's FB discussion board? I'm all over that (freepism, ya know).

I wish I could have seen it live.

It must have been mind blowing..

Concur.

We had just finished moving our business and the house to a new location when I first heard about the Houston concert. We were flat broke because of all the expense, otherwise I would have bit the bullet and got there.

Some of the folks who were there have said that the videos don't do justice to Jackie's performance that night, and that we're only getting maybe 10% of the full impact. I believe them.

I won't miss her when she comes to Dallas. As soon as the tickets go on sale, I'm in. I wouldn't miss it for the world. It's going to be fantabuloso!

Unfortunately, I'll probably not get to see her live.

My wife has ‘issues’ with any female. Even 10.

Don't know why.

Anyway. I'm think about talking to Lisa about having Jackie do a duet with Christopher Dallo.

He's a 18 year old that has a voice very similar to Josh Groban.

Jackie and Christopher were in the David Foster competition in 2009.

If you get a chance, look him up on YouTube.

Actually, all the most popular tunes seem to have the same four chords.

Three chords. The I, IV, V, I progression.

Yes, a lot of songs only have those three chords, but you should go back and check the video link at my post to hear all the songs based on I, V, vi, IV.

Wow. That's unfortunate. Perhaps you can turn her on to Jackie, so that she wants to see her, herself. That'd be your way in, I suppose.

As far as the duets are concerned, I'm sure we'll see some, in time. For now, everyone just wants to see Jackie. For my money, teaming her with anyone else, just takes away from the Jackie Experience.

Here's a duet with her and Katherine Jenkins performing Silent Night. Pretty impressive, but Kate only seems to take away from Jackie's performance, in my opinion:

Then unfortunate part is, I did introduce her to Jackie and all she could say was she was ‘spoiled’ and ‘conceited’..

She doesn’t know a thing about her and refuses to even try.

Oh well. :(

Yeah. I saw that video with Katherine Jenkins.

It was great!

BTW. Just so you know.

I did ‘like’ Jackie’s FB page so I could keep up with any actives or performances.

Hard to believe that anyone seeing Jackie would react to her in that way. That's really surprising to me. Anyone who's watched Jackie in interviews would see that she is well-mannered, kind, well-spoken, happy, and the very picture of a well-balanced child.

So sad that your wife sees something different in this very special little person.

I did ‘like’ Jackie’s FB page so I could keep up with any actives or performances.

Well, soon enough, she'll be such a huge international star, that you won't need FB to keep up with what she's doing. For now, though, the FB fan page is a good place to keep up on all things Jackie.
