This is entertaining, but I'm sure there will be at least some interest in this. I saw the link elsewhere, started watching, loads of fun, and couldn't find it linked here on FR.
“The Visitors” part 1 of 9. Rest of it links in order, apparently (I’ve reached 3 of 9).
I remember when The History Channel had history shows on it.
I guess anything is possible.
I have been watching this on and off myself. Pretty interesting
The ancient aliens stuff is interesting but the steady diet of the stuff just causes me to change the channel. Its always the same charlatans carefully sidestepping obvious answers.
History Channel shows it weekly,and I think on Sats they do a frikkin’ marathon with the same AA programs over and over.
Real history is far more interesting.
I caught a bit of one episode.
The thing I noted was their continual references to Erich von Daniken. I read some of his books in the 60s and 70s. The one thing I noticed was von Daniken never offered any facts but relied heavily on questions:
Could aliens have moved the stones to Easter Island?
Could aliens have built Stonehenge?
Did aliens actually dig the Grand Canyon?
Were aliens responsible for stealing the atmosphere from the moon?

The History Channel’s Ancient Aliens used the same approach — raising similar questions without offering much in the away of evidence.
Fascinating stuff - picking up on Erich Von Daniken’s premise.

Now that mankind's imagination concerning the “mysterious beyond” is caught up with science fiction and life on other planets; NOW we have mysterious diminutive bug eyed aliens with advanced technology and rectal probes.
There were no ancient reports of such things, only now that our imagination has caught up to such things......
1. Who is Erich Von Daniken?
2. Is he an alien?
3. Should he be deported?
4. If deported, would he be history?
5. If he becomes history, would someone try to channel him?
Mostly BS, but I am fascinated with the case of the Dogon tribe in Africa who had knowledge of Sirius-B which is the binary companion of Sirius. Since it’s not visible without special instruments, how did they know about it?
I usually change the channel. It would be nice if they put some history programs on instead.

As a matter of fact there has been many mention of aliens of sort in ancient history.
I’ve been enjoying this show...even though I think that aliens is the mythology not fallen angels. :-)
This show is hilarious. Interviews with lots of UFO geeks who can’t get dates, and narration that begins every other sentence with “Could.” (”Could this suggest alien intervention?”)
Not really. The reports in ancient history are of physically imposing giants with supernatural powers, not diminutive aliens with advanced technology.
There were no reports of the almond eyed aliens popular today in ancient history, you can convince yourself otherwise if you so wish, but there were not.
So, you think all those ancient cave drawings are a hoax?
When will History start showing history shows again? It seems that want to become another Discovery/TLC/Nat Geo. If I want to watch those channels I’ll watch them. Bring back history please

The truth is that ancient humans were much more likely to report, and believe reports, about unicorns, headless people with faces in their chests, giants, dragons, etc, etc. There were no popular reports of UFO sightings or diminutive almond eyed aliens.
But people can convince themselves of all sorts of idiotic things. Look at the market in “dinosaur stones” in South America, once they discovered that there was a market for such among idiots.
And lacking real hard evidence, they repeatedly drag out a storyline beyond my tolerance.

THAT was the major flaw that I did not like about Baylon5.
I like sci-fi, but there is most always an element that denies Christ. That one thought has been planted into American culture and pop culture for a long time.
I read von Daniken’s stuff when I was a teen.
I thought this sounded a lot like it.
Interesting take but not very plausible. Basically, it’s just another attack on religion and Christianity.
Anything from the left to discredit it.

Perhaps bugeyes and buggery were common occurences, so nobody thought to record it.
Grrrr Watched about 1/3 then while waiting for it to load some more on my 2nd monitor, I clicked to close a window and forgot I had my cursor on that window.
Now I have to wait all over again for it to load.

The Dogon tribe thing is a very fascinating conundrum.
I don’t know of any successful debunking of the key issue.
Very cool video, but the comments following are unbelievably juvenile. YouTube is obviously infested with dope head kids.
I think pre-history Human Civilisations ie. (Humans who developed technologically advanced civilisations from 100,000 years ago to 12,000 years ago) or Evolved dinosaurian species that developed civilisations Millions of years ago who are living in space now would be a far move viable theory than the “ancient alien visitation” theories out there.
But all these theories have a about a million to a bnillion to one chance of actually being correct....
