Where’s Laconia?

Besides the town in New Hampshire.

Hello!

(There are advantages to being on night shift in deeeeep south Texas during the snowstorms in Atlanta: Though we are south of Helotes TX, it is still cold down here in Edinburg-McAllen. (Gosh - It is going to dip below 50 this morning! Snicker, snicker.)

But St Ronnie has her tarps across the driveway at home - so we hope she will not need to scrape the ice off - just brush it off and pull the tarp sideways.

We helots up here in the NoVA have a 100% chance of snow later today, but only a 1-4 inch accumulation. hope that holds true and we are spared the big one.

We had about 2” overnight. Roads were plowed pretty well.

Tarps you say, hmmmm. I wonder if that would work on my driveway. It’s on a hill and I always have to get out there with a shovel to clear it so we can get a car up and down. If only I could hire a helot to shovel or perhaps lay a tarp beforehand.

Great game, exciting finish. That’s how the final bowl should be every year.

our driveway is angled at 45 degrees but i think would require too many tarps to cover it, unforch. we always have to shovel it and then salt it to prevent freezing.

The spouse just said tarps wouldn’t help if we had ice which is what we usually get. I heard just now that Atlanta has less than 9 snowplows total because they have the same problem, usually ice, not snow.

the local atlanta reporter just showed a chunk of thick ice they pried up off the road there at the airport, pretty impressive looking stuff. there is no going anywhere when it’s icy, just hunker down and... knit ; )

they’ve said our weather will happen around the evening rush, which should not impact us too much. xshub will have to get home of course, but xssoph has her geometry midterm this AM and will be done and home by noon.

Wes Byrum will make a fine kicker in the Pros. Exceedingly reliable. I saw him kick one from the 50 yard line in practice a couple of years ago at the A day game.

That little freshman fullback Dyer was impressive, too.

Well, the snow starts here tonight and I am on call all night. I live on top of a steep hill. I am not happy with this forcast. I’ve tried just staying at the station, but then my car gets plowed in there. There is no way I am getting through this without cleaning off my car and digging out numerous times all night.

What with enduring the crushing burdens of confiscatory taxes to feed a burgeoning, burdensome bureaucracy, at times, I feel a heck of a lot like a helot.

I'm tardy, so, I'll just grade myself; thanks.

I suppose if you were bound to the land wth your nose always to the grindstone you’d tend to become Laconic...

Didn’t they say Byrum was the highest scorer in the SEC this year? That’s impressive. And I couldn’t believe the little back was a true freshman. Hopefully he will stick around a few more years. I got fed up with LSU’s academically ineligible, no wait he’s not and how do they decide that when school is out anyway? I smell a rat, a tiger-striped rat.

Obama, the socialist zealot
Wants to make each of us his own helot
What’s amazing to me
Are the folks who don’t see
And the media helping to sell it
