SEC BYLAW 14.01.3.2:
...”If at any time before or after matriculation in a member institution a student-athlete or any member of his/her family receives or agrees to receive, directly or indirectly, any aid or assistance beyond or in addition to that permitted by the Bylaws of this Conference (except such aid or assistance as such student-athlete may receive from those persons on whom the student is naturally or legally dependent for support), such student- athlete shall be ineligible for competition in any intercollegiate sport within the Conference for the remainder of his/her college career.”
THe fact is the SEC has sold the entire conferences integrity for that $12 million BCS check. PERIOD.
The NCAA ruling took advantage of the intentional vagueness the NCAA puts in all their rules to allow them to interpret willie-nillie. Have no issue with the NCAA ruling — but the bottom line is the SEC is ignoring a clear cut rule that makes Newton ineligible to play for any SEC school — and there is no possible interpretation to justify him playing.

“Oregon is 1-0 against the SEC this year.”
Oregon 48 Tennessee 13
Georgia (3-5 SEC) 41 Tennessee 14
Alabama (5-3 SEC) 41 Tennessee 10
SO that puts Oregon right about on par with being a 4-4 or 5-3 SEC team. About right.

The Bowl dudes are probably ticked off about Connecticut getting an automatic bid........ Enough from U Conn will go and Sooner fans will be there in force. Arizona in January is not all that bad place to be.

That’s the last time you’ll see scores like that against Tennessee for awhile, they probably were the best team in the SEC East down the stretch.

Oregon beat Stanford. What team has Auburn beat that’s ranked in the top 5?

So this is a conspiracy on the SEC's part, then? Really? I think Mike Slive... who was an attorney that specialized in NCAA regulations before he become SEC commissioner... probably knows the rules... both the letter and the spirit... better than you do.

Well Ohio State gets to play an SEC team. Of course, we all know that if Ohio State beats Arkansas the SEC people will tell us that Arkansa isn’t a “real” SEC team. LOL! BTW Auburn would be wise to check out how Ohio State beat Oregon. The bluepriont is there if Auburns O Line can dominate.

So...your line is OU -60? That might be worth a $10 bet.

Don’t forget, Mallett was a Michigan QB. We’ve seen him before.
