The “McRib” has to be one of the most ingenious, nastiest, and best ideas from a fast food place ever devised. LOL!!
That thing ISN’T Ribs, or even meat from Ribs. Is it even Pork? lol Does anyone know what in the hell those things really are?
Having said all of that, the people that do eat those things sure seem to like them.

I thought as long as they slit the pigs throat while the the mullah was praying behind it on his knees it was ok. No, you are confused. That's women, not pigs.

The green shake I remember — drawing a blank on the clam thing.
McD’s had a so-called crabcake sandwich for a short time. Sorry, but no self-respecting Merlinder girl eats her crabcakes at McD’s.

The other item was the fried-clam belly roll. Basically it a clump of delicious fried clam bellies (without the strips) jammed into a toasted, buttered roll. I think I remember reading in Ray Krok's autobiography that he axed the clam thing himself. It was too outside of what to him McD's was all about.

Shamrock shakes also available in NJ around March 17th. We now call them ShamWOW shakes. Also, the pic you have of the clam bellies, note the McD’s Lobster Rolls at upper right... I’ve have had one in Maine, once... just to say I had one in Maine, once.

Well, there goes my diet. I'm actually glad they don't sell the Mcrib all the time or I would morbidly obese. Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure the last time I ate at McDonalds was the last time they had the Mcrib. I started boycotting their hamburgers when they dropped the MCDLT. Anybody remember that one, hot side hot and cold side cold? I also liked McDonalds Pizza, but that didn't last long at all. Of course, nothing has tasted quite as good since they got rid of the Styrofoam boxes and stopped using grease for the frys.

McDonald's has developed a new process in which their McRib products are sprayed with real meat juice to enhances their products which are defined as meat. The chicken products use a similar process but with real chicken flavored juice. Both products use anti bloating compounds during the heating process.
These anti bloating agents and compounds are also used to reduce swelling of the chicken coating, resulting in a tasty chewy substance, that tastes just like real chicken, also giving it that "breaded appearance". The rib products are sprayed with dye that resembles BBQ sauce, with a similar taste and texture.

Well they must have at least done a trial at some selected restaurants because I remember it clearly. It was only available for a short time, probably the summer of 1978 as I remember Jim Rice was hitting a lot of home runs for the Boston Red Sox that year and they were playing a lot of Bee Gees on the radio.
It was the restaurant in Revere, Massachusetts, not too far from Kelly's Roast Beef (which also has great fried clams) and they definitely called it the "clam belly roll."
I don't know what they did with the clam strips, but the belly is the best part of the clam anyhow. I used to order the roll with no tartar sauce because I don't like tartar sauce. The roll was a bit messy to eat because those clam bellies were so juicy and like I mentioned before, they really jammed those clams into that toasted bun. Then all of a sudden, it disappeared off the menu, never to return.

Oh wow...totally forgot about the Shamrock Shake. Good times.

Nothing like ammonia-nized meat leftovers being pumped full of chemicals to try to taste like real meat, then being stamped into a form to look like ribs.
Why not just go for the real thing and get a real rib sandwich from a better place?

And the Colonel sells chicken 0holes to McDonald.
So, when you bite into one of McDonald’s chicken sandwiches and you hear a ***FFffrrrrappp*** you know that was from the Colonel.

Is it any good? I’ve never had one.

The roll was a bit messy to eat Krok might have been at the helm still. It might have been a trial run. I recall one big reason he didn't like the sandwich was because it was too messy.

Most people who like ribs know not to eat the bones. Besides McD’s meat is the LOWEST quality meat allowed to be served to people.
