“When you live in a capitalistic society, the currency of the dissemination of information goes through capitalistic channels. Would Noam Chomsky object to his works being sold at Barnes & Noble? No, because that’s where people buy their books. We’re not interested in preaching to just the converted. It’s great to play abandoned squats run by anarchists, but it’s also great to be able to reach people with a revolutionary message, people from Granada Hills to Stuttgart.” —Tom Morello

In other words, we want people with money to pay for our hackneyed tripe so that we can live some place other than the gutter or our parents’ basements.

Times have changed since they started, but how were they to distribute their message in 1992? He has a point.

At the very least, I thought Audioslave’s concert (never got the chance at a RATM show) was pretty dang cheap to be on the floor. That is close enough for me to their stated beliefs.

“The law passed by the Arizona state legislature, SB1070, requires local authorities to determine a person’s immigration status if he or she is suspected of being undocumented.”

They just can’t stop lying about what the bill says, can they? /spit

So since everyone else is doing it, it’s okay.

Typical liberal thought

To me, I support file sharing simply because it deprives these libtard nitwits the resources to live like a celebrity. Nobody gets into that business to be poor, and nobody listens to a poor musician’s political views.

So if their “work” doesn’t earn them a living in sufficient quantity as to improve their lot in life, then they will move to another opportunity

Good post, Fool. I certainly have enjoyed taking in your tremendous knowledge of music in the past year or so. If I’m ever in paradise, wherever that is (Texas perhaps?), I’d love to have a beer or two with you.

Lady Gaga is performing in Phoenix on July 31st. I wonder how much pressure she has been getting.

Say what you want about her...but her fan base is very important to her.

Abbie Hoffman encouraged his readers to steal the texts:
