“Good night. I expect more respect tomorrow.”
We're sorry. But............do ya think Bam did it cause those sure look like he stole his ears.
Because the rest of the (normal) world knows that they are being constantly manipulated by advertisers, handlers, propaganda and "experts" prostituting themselves teaching the inadequate how to appear convincing, sincere, competent and mentality healthy.
When we all know they are not.
Just this last weekend we had the opportunity to see the ugly process through a cable program on manufactured "body language," created expressly to achieve a desired (but undesireable) result.
Politics and advertising, the obvious major culprits.
If we are dumb enough to fall for it.
“Two of my friends girlfriends killed themselves in December”
Poor guy.
I think the derision is partly because the kid “had it all” and offs himself because of some chickie? Um yeah.
Hey...whatsa matter u? I wore that to my daughter’s graduation (I was able to buy it VERY cheaply on eBay).
Why?
It's the ultimate and most sincere form of self-crticism.
And no one can appoint himself the arbiter of "distastefulness."
What can be more irrational than to decide for a helpless unborn human being suicide-by-proxy?
Harmonica man?
As they have no point of reference, suicide is too often thought of as a viable alternative to the unpleasant, yet temporary emotion they are experiencing.
He looks like a young version of those weird looking identical twins I see posted here every so often.
I didn’t know Lady Gag Gag was designing clothes.
The House for Kids Who Can’t Read....
As opposed to an ugly person who does it for the same exact reason. Got it.
It’s because he didn’t get that job with Abercrombie & Fitch.
Supposedly, if you believe society, this persons life was perfect. They were successful, had money, supposed good looks. And only 22. A girl disappoints him and he jumps out a window? He is a product of modern society. I think the derision is aimed more at that then him personally. He’s just the icon.
God rest and keep his soul.
The jealousy card, the last resort of poster who doesn't get it. It's not jealousy. This kid was what society tells us is successful. And yet he jumped. Society is wrong and this kid is a shining example of just how wrong they are.
Contempt, irony, cynicism are sooo easy, and we all think ourselves clever and original, spouting the same old tired clichéd puns. Until such things happen to us, and at most inopportune moments when help is unavailable. Watch out, you jesters!
It has nothing to do with being attractive or having money. If a good-looking guy who made a fortune in hardware stores or an office-cleaning firm killed himself, there wouldn't particularly be a lot of joking. The world of fashion models is (deliberately and exultantly) bizarre and therefore attracts well-deserved ridicule. Most normal men would not consider prancing down a catwalk wearing makeup and ridiculous clothes a "great job and lifestyle." Elton John might think that sounds like a lovely and fulfilling life, but Freepers and other people who don't watch 'Sex And The City' are likely to see it as the empty, bankrupt existence that it is.
I *get it* just fine, thank you; you may keep your judgmental opinion to yourself.
