Los Angeles FReeper's advice to AZ's wonderful Governor Brewer (you go Guv!)
(vanity)

Posted on 05/13/2010 1:01:46 AM PDT by Cringing Negativism Network

As I write this, it is early morning Thursday, May 13th.

Yesterday the illegal-alien coddling city counsel of Los Angeles, passed an outrage of a resolution, to boycott Arizona. Officially.

TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: arizona; buycott
It's on, Governor. Bring it I say.

Governor Brewer, here is what I sincerely suggest you do, when you go to work Thursday morning.

First thing, contact ADOT. Set up an immediate appointment with ADOT - this morning, to draft two pairs of highway signs, to the exact dimensions of the "Welcome to Arizona" signs currently gracing the eastbound 10 and 40 freeways entering Arizona from Los Angeles.

Have the signs prepared within 24 hours. Request ADOT have two teams available to erect the signs at sunrise, this Saturday.

One set of signs (one each) to be erected eastbound, a tenth of a mile after the "Welcome to Arizona" sign on the eastbound 10 freeway, and the eastbound 40 freeway. Both of which are the major interstates out of Los Angeles.

The signs, in official format, would read simply "California Resident Prepare to Stop at Toll Booth Ahead".

Another set, same locatons, on the westbound side of the same two freeways, would read:

"Thank you for Visiting Arizona, California Residents Prepare to Pay Toll Ahead".

Governor Brewer, there's no need to actually build the toll booths, or charge any toll. Just put those signs up.

Let the public debate begin. :)

Yes Governor Brewer, you have my full permission to use this idea, I hope you will.

Thank you.

You are an inspiration.

They would be completely within their right to do this as a sovereign state. There are agricultural check stands a few miles into the state of California coming from Nevada, the have every right to slow you down, stop you, look in side and ask if you are bringing in any fruits or vegetables. Fun idea!

Thanks, yes there are CA state checkpoints on the 15 from Las Vegas, and also westbound from Arizona.

I’m not in favor of AZ building a checkpoint - that’s way more a statist liberal sort of thing.

Just for tweaking Los Angeles, is all.

Guaranteed a photo of the signs, would make every newspaper in America. A leftist feeding frenzy of feigned outrage would follow. It would be great, and good for Arizona too.

Good way to get everyone to pick a lane, on illegal immigration. :)

California is a socialist cesspool.

I think I could go quite a while without buying another new movie release.

Game on, Los Angeles.

Imho, a “boycott California” campaign is long overdue.

And I live here.

I really, really hope Arizona pushes back! Lots of tourism revenue which could be moved (from) California. Businesses are already making that drive.

Plenty of Americans are on Arizona’s side. 70% or something.

Considering the fact that Los Angeles Department of Water and Power receive 22% of their electricity from Arizona, Why Don’t we just Invoke the Us Constitution, Specifically Article 1 section 10
No State Shall Make Anything but, Gold and Silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debt.
Force Los Angeles to pay In Legal Tender.

Make them argue that the Constitution is Irrelevant and they don’t have to abide by it, them Shut Them Off.

This would completely change the conversation.
