Thank you for posting that. I lurked in the 90s and early 00s, got busy in Ws second term and am now ACTIVE. My son has also taken up the shield and is marching steadily forward.
I know how you feel. I get that way sometimes but I am just like a battery that needs to sit in the charger to get juiced up again and then I am good to go.

Unfortunately this is one of those problems that ignoring won’t make go away. Like rotting floorboards. But as you say, defeatism is hardly helpful either. Fortunately, the U.S. was given a lot of safety buffers against what would have already happened with so many communist infiltrators in our government. It may never get as bad as I fear it might.

The “Man in the Arena” quote from Teddy Roosevelt is a good one to remember. The entire speech is at the link. The “man in the arena” quote is the first paragraph. I skimmed the entire (long!!!) speech and it looks like I will be reading it in detail later - all about being a good citizen. Another paragraph popped out at me that I have also included.

I found it necessary to get away from politics. Im convinced Obama is out to destroy this country.
I’ve found Turner Classic Movies keeps me a little sane...the news is so sensationalized...or maybe i have just come to see what it really is...a business.
