The Philadelphia Eagles have reached agreement on a blockbuster intra-division trade that will send perennial Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb to the Washington Redskins, according to multiple sources close to the situation.

The two sides still must finalize language, but McNabb is now headed to Washington. Compensation is not yet known, but it is likely to include Washington's 2010 second-round pick.

The move means the Redskins now have a new starting quarterback and the Eagles have a new one as well in Kevin Kolb. Michael Vick is now in line as the team's backup.

Really surprised he was traded to a division rival. Could be interesting, especially with Shanahan as coach.

This will be the first NFL caliber QB Washington has had in 6 or 7 years. Could be interesting. They should still draft a quality QB and let him learn the ropes watching McNabb for a few years. Does Washington have an O-line yet? I’d hate to McNabb go out taking a beating behind a toilet paper line.

Aw, jeez. Say it ain't so. I might be able to live with it if they get rid of that punk Rex Grossman. AND they use the draft to get some serious O-line talent, or else this might be McNabb's last season. LOL

Redskins are dumb. McNabb is in the twilight of his career. Why would they trade for him when there are younger, more proven backups in the league waiting for their shot to start? More proof that they want to remain mediocre and the laughingstock of the NFC East.

Whew. The Redskins will never be a threat with Snyder in charge and the Sparrows have gotten rid of Giant killers like Dawkins, Westbrook, and now McNabb.

Frankly, there is a racial element here. Campbell said a year or so ago that he frequently calls McNabb and other black quarterbacks to help him improve his game. So, I guess now Campbell can save on long distance charges.

I suspect the Eagles let McNabb decide where he wanted to go. Surprised its in the division though. And for such a low price. I want to say the Eagles got screwed, but I've never been a McNabb fan, so, perhaps they feel they got the better end of the deal. And with their youth movement in the off season, they likely have.

Skins fans... welcome to McChoke.

Not only that but McNabb suffered many injuries over the course of his NFL career.

wow. nothing is sacred anymore.

I watched kevin kolb a good bit in college, and in the few games that he filled in for mcnabb. he has the potential to be a very good nfl quarterback.

His career actually hasn't been injury-prone.
McNabb is simply not a championship-caliber QB, and he's no longer good enough to be a consistent starter. He is at best a good veteran backup who should have went to a crappy team to mentor a franchise QB. Redskins are really making a huge mistake here, and the Eagles are dumb too for starting Kolb when you have a playmaker like Vick who can win games.

In that system and with his offensive weapons, he’ll be on my fantasy roster.

Too bad McNabb can’t take Pgh.’s Roethlisberger with him. Or Santonio Holmes.
