I was raised by a single parent before it was fashionable in the early 50’s.
She kept moving me around and I was always the BNG plus very small. I caught living hell until I learned to play a great shortstop then life got very good.
And strangely enough, it wasn’t the ‘jocks’ that were the ‘bullys’ it was the typical misfits..however their 5 or 6 to my 1 became me and the jocks...end of problem..

The problem isn’t that life is unfair - it’s the the bullies were assholes.

However, if I had thought I could have gotten a noose around the bullies' necks....
A man who works at the same place as me had a son about 12 or 13 who also hanged himself. He was bullied at school and harassed over his cell phone and on the internet. The kid heard it all day at school and couldn’t even avoid it at home as the technology allowed the bullies to follow him there.
The parents are now anti-bullying advocates.
I have three sister. That brought back a LOT of memories.

I’m so sorry about the death of the child of your coworker. It’s a horrible thing I don’t doubt. Advocacy isn’t enough anymore. Actual, harsh punishment for the perpetrators is what needs to be done. And it needs to be painful and public.
My Granddaughter may have problems, but my Daughter in Law is Scots Irish and I am a mean old Yankee, also Scots Irish, English, we will handle it.

He was college track, not vocational; and he needed my tutoring help to get through algebra, chemistry, and physics. I was suddenly an off-limits, protected species.
My Dad knew the parents of one of the boys. So he talked to the kid. The kid said they had a crush on me and I ignored them. I told my Dad that they announced their presence, the very first time I laid eyes on them, by trying to light my hair on fire. My father, who didn’t live with us (divorce) thought it was settled. I didn’t bother telling him about the scissors etc.
