Fall, the former chairman of the senate interior committee, was well qualified for the job he was given. After Harding died Fall was convicted of bribery for taking cash from Edward L. Doheny, which he claimed was a loan. This was the famous “Teapot Dome scandal”. Doheny was acquitted of bribery, and then foreclosed on Fall’s ranch for failure to pay back the loan!
That’s what psychiatrists USED to say. That’s one reason the Church didn’t send the priests straight to the cops. They were told by psychiatrists that they could ‘cure’ them. It wasn’t til the late 80’s that they began to realized that the could not be cured at all, they just needed stay locked up.
