I called in a consultation with Jerry Seinfeld and George Castanza and they agree with me that this was not a pick. Not in the specific sense of the word. It was a delamination of the anterior wall of the mucosa of the nostril adfixed by the adhesive nature of snot to the postermedial wall of the nostril. There was no actual foraging of phlem with the resultant retrieval. Had there been retrieval there would have been a snot-strand (or mucous strand) following the thumb from the introitus of the nostril. There was no actual penetration, and ergo, no pick. This may be up for discussion but I have consulted the highest authorities on this subject, and we all are in agreement.

Not being funny at all, but he did this several times whilst he viewed the Inauguration parade. At one point, (I had posted the time in the video on a post that day), he had his finger in his nose, removed it, then stuck it in his mouth.
He really does have the temperament of a little boy.
