I don't know the rules about Yahoo posts, so I just put the link. I knew that he had suffered a stroke a couple of weeks ago. Very sad.

Only 53 years old, but what an adventurous and challenging life at sea. He did it his way.

My dad couldn't put his tobacco down either and passed away early from his fourth heart attack. I am thankful that I have not touched tobacco in over twenty five years and that my wife also was able to quit several years ago.

That made it all the more tragic for me to see it happen again to such a glorious rogue as Capt. Phil Harris! Rest well Captain Phil, it is obvious to us you rode hard through your life and kept your individualist spirit to the end!
