Lindsey Vonn is hoping the Sports Illustrated cover jinx doesn't cross international borders. America's great Winter Olympic hope is featured on the front of SI's Winter Olympic preview issue, which hit newsstands Wednesday.
Vonn's semi-provocative pose has drawn the predictable ire from those who claim that it objectifies her. She's an athlete, not a sex symbol, the chorus inevitably reminds us. They have a point in taking issue with SI; the magazine rarely features women athletes on the cover and its annual swimsuit issue has been a focus of protests for decades. But Vonn's cover is different.

The cover is the picture someone is complaining about. Obviously someone who knows squat (no pun intended) about skiing, especially downhill racing.
Haven’t picked up an SI in a long time, butt I might have to check this one out...

Sorry... She's gorgeous. No doubt. But some times a picture is just a picture.
The pic is semi-provocative only to those overexposed to genuine provocative material.
That’s not provocative. She’s wearing a ski suit. Body paint - now that would have been provocative.

Pretty girl. How sexist must one be to think a bent-over female skiier must be doing so because of sexual overtones? The funny thing is ... their minds are right where they accuse everyone else’s of being.

No matter if she wins an Olympic medal or not, she is the best female skier in the World. Last year she was #1 and it looks like she is well on her way to being #1 again this year.
At the last winter olympics the media was all hyper about some great female downhill skier. During the games I dont think she completed a single run without ending up in the fence. Cant remember her name but she crashed more often that Lindsey Lohan.
