You avoid genetically modified food but George Washington Broth and Wyler’s I am sure both contain MSG and possibly other chemical flavor enhancers. If you are cooking for guests you should warn them as to what it contains. Some are very affected by these chemicals.

First turkey I ever cooked after I was married turned out great.

In my ignorance I cooked it breast side down. Not much to look at but it was very moist.

Now I do turn it for the last half hour of cooking.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I just now carried out the trash and the cottage cheese container was in there.

I got the walmart brand, “low fat”. I am pretty sure it was small curd.

Thanks. I’d not thought of that.

Sigh. Guess I better put on my glasses and read the silly label.

Appreciate your insight.

I went to your link because I had never heard of GW Broth and then looked GW up on the Internet. I didn't find a complete list of ingredients but MSG was mentioned. Most people aren't bothered by it but some of us must avoid it.

I also avoid soy because I have low thyroid and it inhibits thyroid function as do pecans and walnuts.

You’re right. There is MSG in it. Wow.

I am referring to the label for Wyler chicken granules.

The cottage cheese loaf turned out very nicely. I am sure it will be a favorite of mine and my loved ones for a long time. I think folks would eat it at breakfast time too if it were out on the table. What a great recipe. Thank you so much. Happy Thanksgiving.

As I said before, it would make a great breakfast.

High protein,

And has that grab-n-go quality for those of us who have to go flying out the door as part of our hurried morning routine.

I can’t wait to make it for my extended family at Christmas.

I figured out that for my tastes, I will leave out the boullion flavoring altogether.

Then, if it suits me, I can sprinkle a little Braggs on as I eat it.

I’m pretty much a salt and pepper kind of person. Onions, too.

Cottage Cheese Loaf (for a crowd)
2 onions, chopped
minced garlic
1 stick butter
a bit of olive oil
5 lb. cottage cheese from Sam’s Club
a few dashes of soy sauce
12 eggs
10 cups Special K cereal and bran flakes cereal total (next time crush in food processor first)
dash salt
several grinds from the pepper mill or the salad seasoning mill
sprinkle of rosemary

In skillet, melt butter, add a little olive oil, add the onions and a bit of minced garlic, saute over low heat for a while, till it sizzles like it’s cooked.

Combine all ingredients. Grease two disposable “half size” pans as well as an oval casserole dish, put one third of mixture in each pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

{My notes so next time I remember what I did.}
