TULSA, OK -- A 1-year-old Tulsa girl was injured in an pit bull dog attack Friday at about 5 p.m. Emergency personnel rushed the child to St. Francis in critical condition, according to Tina Wells of EMSA.
Tulsa Police report that the child got between a pit bull and its food dish while the dog was eating. She received injuries to the head and face.
The incident happened in the 3400 block of East 149th St. A neighbor said she and her children were outside when she heard a woman screaming repeatedly.
The family initially tried to transport their daughter to the hospital but called 911 when the child lost consciousness. They were met by emergency personnel at a gas station at 41st and 129th Streets.
The dog has been taken by Tulsa Animal Control where it will be held for the next 10 days to watch for signs of rabies.
What the? Held for signs? Cut the darn head off and send it to the lab!!!
Local police (Sacramento, Ca) shot a pitbull today when it and another were running loose and attacked a few people. Don’t know what happened to the other pitbull.
