This should answer any questions about our (USA) invasive pythons being edible. If we can't get rid of them then let people hunt them for meat and skin.

Thank Gaia these endangered animals were saved.I can see where this would be a legitimate problem in Malaysia. Without any controls, poachers might kill off every critter they could find a market for.

My brother-in-law hit it big by selling a pharmaceutical company he helped start. As a reward, he went on an Asian cooking school trip, travelling through vietnam, thailand and a few other asian countries and learning to cook the local stuff.
He was boating down a Thai river with his guide and a chef, when he spotted a large, yellow-ish snake in the trees above them.
He asked the guide what it was, and the guide translated it to the chef.
The chef replied, and the guide translated it back:
“He said it is delicions.”

That’s like the old joke about giving grandma a cockatoo as a pet. You call to ask how she likes it and she says it was delicious.

My mom and I ordered Phud Thai in a nice Bangkok restaurant back in the late 1950s. It was served with fresh stir fried honey bees.

A friend in Thailand spotted an elderly Chinese lady outside a shop. She had two little puppies. He remarked how cute they were. She replied “and delicious, too.”

In Malaysia, the bigger threat to the safety of the nation is the Islamic theocractic rule.
