I have heard again and again the Democrat Voters say they are voting Democrat for Education because Education is what is needed for Jobs.
What good does an education do for you if there is no place to work though?
Why is the thinking of Democrats so messed up?
I think this is the key to squashing the Democrats turn out if not converting their votes.
Gosh, that’s an easy one. All those overeducated people with multiple degrees - folks like myself, by the way - will work for the government. Simple.
I could think of a couple of South American countries I wouldn’t mind selling my services to.
If Government takes over a third of the economy and kills off the small business engine with taxes and regulation, you are right - what good is education. It’s a philosophical difference. Liberals believe the source of all jobs is the Government. Conservatives believe the source of all jobs is the private sector and particularly small business.
If everyone has a degree, and multiple ones, what is the difference between everyone else?
If no one is out there paying taxes, then the government won’t be able to employ those highly educated people.
These people are living in a fantasy world.
Where will they work, once he destroys small business?
Geez, man, they’ll work for him, which is where they work NOW! There will just be more of them, and the American people, along with China , Russia, and assorted new “allies” , will pay their salaries. C’mon, get with the program!!!
I didn’t say it made sense - although, in terms of power, it is good to have a class of highly-qualified serfs to carry out the edicts of the State.
There will always be work proofing the internet for the inappropriate use of the possessive apostrophe.
It keeps me busy.
Comrade, we must reeducate you all.
I would love to see a nation wide strike for one day!
If anyone has an idea how to get this idea squashed out of these people’s head in one sentence or less, please let me know.
If we put all our money into education, all we’ll end up with are a bunch of educated unemployed people.
We need to get behind efforts to produce jobs (which means helping businesses) not producing smarter unemployed people.
all the people that didn’t vote for the Republican in Virginia all said the same thing
Education = Jobs
Not that Education = Qualification for a Better Job
In order for that to matter, the Better Job must first exist in order for the Qualification to mean s**t
They will become Street Sweepers of the City. Let their brother’s will be done.
Yes, that is my prediction if we continue down this path.
We will have PHD toilet cleaners.
That axiom itself may be collapsing. That is, education as it is done in the US today, has hopelessly overextended itself.
What is going to happen is that businesses will realize that for their future hires to go to college does nothing to advance their business.
Instead, first of all, their new employees must be reeducated before they are fit to work, *and* then trained in their specific job as well. And before “day 1”, the company has lost four of the most productive years of work of their new hires. Even in the 1980s this was a problem, and corporations were subcontracting education companies to teach their new hires, both foreign and domestic.
Then worst of all, when they are hired, their sole focus is a big paycheck, because they are deeply in debt to pay off student loans. This means they will have to defer marriage and children, which tend to stabilize employees in their jobs, which will make them less loyal to their employer in several ways.
If you talk to even professions, like dentists, today, they begin work almost hopelessly in debt. And with an economic downturn, they are likely to remain in debt until they are in their 50’s. This is not a good reason to work extremely hard to become a “high paid” professional.
So when does this bloated and expensive educational system collapse? Sooner rather than later. Universities have already lost billions of dollars from their endowments, and State revenues are radically dropping as well.
But there is one last bulge of newly unemployed people who think that by “going back to school” they will be able to reenter the work force at a higher paying job. They are in for a harsh surprise. But then, so are the Enormous State Universities.
Just a relatively few number of companies need to agree that they need capable employees, not ones with diplomas, and the whole system collapses.
That would be great!
Thanks
The GOVERNMENT creates jobs, silly. Don’t you see all those selfish employers depriving people of their right to a federal check?
Why is democrat thinking so messed up?
Because liberalism is a mental disease. They are unable to think rationally. They just “feel”, they don’t “think”.
When dealing with liberals, I always remember that at their core, they are AOK with killing unborn Americans. They vote that way. Even if they haven’t personally had an abortion, they still approve of it by voting democrat.
These are not rational compassionate people. They are selfish opportunists that cast away human life if it’s inconvienient to deal with.
End of Rant. Thank you.
Kick out the illegals and those with MBAs and PHDs can flip hanmburgers and live in a government supplied chicken coup!
“inappropriate use of the possessive apostrophe”
Many FReeper’s agree ;D!
If by “working for the government” you mean collecting government unemployment insurance plus extensions, then I agree with you.
If the dems have their way no one will have to work. The all-knowing all-powerful government will just give them money that it took from those eeeeeevvvvvil rich Republicans.
“...in one sentence or less”
Suggestion: “When someone needs a job they should seek out and ask a poor person for one”
not bad
In the brand new Department of Saving and Creating Jobs headed up by Van Jones. The Department has a simple mandate: Each time the Department hires someone they report to MSNBC they "saved or created" 10 more jobs.
(See each time they hire someone they save jobs in other parts of the government like payroll jobs and janitorial jobs and such. Its a brilliant plan! The plan was developed by the same guy who came up with the new way the Obama administration is going to end water shortages out West. The new water shortage plan is simple. To make the water they have on hand go farther they will "dilute it"...)
I bet their next tactic is they will blame the lost jobs on Global Warming.
There is always an income in tyranny, until it leads to genocide. Then, eventually, the tyrants are themselves subjected to genocide.
This is the job future Democrats have chosen.
Capitalism and individual freedom have no place in their distopian, omni-present state. Except, perhaps as a sub-contracted grave digger or camp guard.

This is one of the most persistent Rat myths out there.
FACT: Education does not create jobs. Period. End of discussion.
Education is a good thing. It may help people become eligible for jobs that exist. It may help people unleash their entrepreneurial ideas if the economic, tax, social environment otherwise facilitates that. But education does not— repeat, does NOT — “create jobs.”
I don’t think the point was “what good is an education.” It is asking the question: how does education “create jobs”?
Education doesn’t create jobs.
That is all.
Last night one of the woman in a Luntz focus group said she voted for Obama/Deeds because they were for “education” and “education creates jobs.”
HOW STUPID IS THAT?
Being highly educated does NOTHING to create jobs. (Although it may keep educators employed for a while.)
You can have all the education in the world, but if there are no jobs to be had, guess what, you have no job and your education, by itself, cannot “create” a job. Even if your education helps you to figure out how to create jobs (i.e., start a small business), it still can’t “create” jobs if the economic/tax environment won’t allow that.
I posted about this same focus group and, apparently, was shouting the same thing at the tv as you were.
Education = Jobs?
How stupid can these people be?
I am looking for the hidden camera now.
I saw the same show, but there were 3 seperate people that said something simular.
and I saw many shaking their heads in agreement.
scary
“There will always be work proofing the internet for the inappropriate use of the possessive apostrophe.”
Touche.
P.S. I suppose you are constantly working with just one aspect of the problem, i.e., “it’s” and “its”. Almost every poster on FR gets those two wrong.
