V” got off to an out-of-this-world start Tuesday night for ABC and put the Alphabet just a fraction behind CBS in the demo race. Eye edged out a win with new episodes of its “NCIS” franchise and freshman drama “The Good Wife.” But execs at ABC are all smiles as sci-fi skein “V” drew a 5.0 rating and 13 share, with 13.9 million viewers tuning in, making it the highest-rated series debut of the new season. Reviews for the Warner Bros. show were stellar and audiences clearly checked in at 8 o’clock to see what the hype was all about.

My wife and I were laughing so hard at the Obama references that we probably disturbed the neighbors. When they did the press interview and the reporter is told they can ask any question except those that might show us in an unflattering light. When they did universal health care we just laughed and said, they aren’t even being subtle about who the “V” are supposed to be. And is it just me or does the chubby, manic, conspiracy crazed resistance leader remind anyone else of Glen Beck.

i have always liked her since firefly days. sh is one of the prettiest women on tv. jane badler is also hot. however, and this may be by design, anna does not exude evil like diana did.
The fact that everything matches the whole Obama approach should scare the living s**t out of everybody.

I ran across something else in the casting of the original “V” TV series in 1984. Diana’s cohort, Lydia, was played by June Chadwick, who’s best remembered as Janine, girlfriend of David St. Hubbins in “Spinal Tap”

• The resistance in “V” is slaughtered by the aliens. Obama isn’t killing his critics yet.
• Aliens in “V” offer universal health care to both control and cure us so they can eat more of us later; Obama only offers universal health care to control us.
• The health care of the aliens in “V” actually cure injuries and illness of the sickest. Obama’s universal healthcare is a denial of care to the sickest.
• Alien health care is free. Obama’s is free, but the tax rate will kill you if the waiting lists don’t.
• The aliens want to mine minerals and harvest water. Obama thinks the Earth should be unsullied and turning off water to save fish is more important than dying crops and unemployed farmers.
• The main interviewer in “V” was surprised when told to only ask softball questions. Mainstream media interviewers volunteer.
• The interviewer in “V” believed in the principal of fairness. In real life, the reporter wouldn’t have.
• The fascists in “V” are planning on world domination. Obama only wants to dominate one nation.
• The aliens in “V” have infiltrated major religious groups and seek to guide them to their views. In real life, religious groups not already at the altar are second class citizens if not “bigoted” and “hateful”.
• The fascist aliens in “V” are beautiful and friendly. Except for Sasha and Malia, there are neither such people in the US Wanna-Be Dictatorship.
• The fascist aliens in “V” have simple titles like “leader”. Obama’s regime picks more negative words like “czar”.
• The fascist aliens have infiltrated our democracy but want to continue the façade of freedom. In real life, judges publicly overthrow and then chastise those who vote against the political elite.
• The fascists in “V” actually like babies. Sautéed or raw, but like them. Is this better than being a burden?
• The fascists in “V” have a better slogan, though they are just as hypocritical.
• The scripts for “V” were written during the Bush Presidency, but carry the classic elements of fascism through the story. Thus it was intended to call the Republicans, not the Democrats fascists. But if the shoe fits …
I was flipping through the SyFy channel yesterday and came across the scene with Diana offering her protege a snack from out of the rat bowl. LOL!
