New Chrysler May Get a New Logo [Pic in URL]
November 04, 2009 By Nelson Ireson
Low-resolution, grainy and barely recognizable--sounds like a spy photo of a top-secret supercar in testing. But this time, it's a new Chrysler logo, dug out of the depths of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
The logo, which seems oddly compressed in the vertical axis, is a sort of retro-modern combination of the winged Chrysler logos of the 1990s with a modern typeface and the Chrysler name.
It may be yet another visible aspect of the Fiat restructuring and rebranding of Chrysler, though the symbol also bears at least a passing resemblance to Aston Martin's famous winged icon.
Chrysler is no stranger to the whole musical logos game, however, of late a procedure that's tended to coincide with purchase or sale by a parent company, i.e. Daimler.
The last such change saw the withdrawal and then reinstatement of the Pentastar logo, which once again appears to have gone the way of the dodo, or the Pontiac, as it were.

Maybe they ought to sell off AMC.
Bet it will look a lot like Obama’s (and Pepsi).
I just figured it would look The One’s campaign O
Am I the only one who thinks GM should have kept Pontiac and axed Buick?
Just what I was thinking. A silver Obama logo. Makes sense, the Obama car czar is probably demanding this.
Oh, How exciting! A new logo.
Wondering how that will make things better.

Here it is, FYI.
Yea, that’ll be a BIG help when it’s attached to their UAW work projects they call cars. (sarcasm)
Yes, Buick is a granny car. Pontiac was alway stylish and a fav of the young
That new logo is an accurate representation of taxpayers’ bailout money flying out the window, never to return.
Well, at 136k miles, my wife’s 300m’s air conditioning is noticeably weak, and a recharge didn’t help. But other than that (and a $185 radio repair) the car is great. Still looks and feels like a new car.
One thing interesting though. When we went to Kentucky we rented a Hummer H3. It was a much quieter cabin than our 300 to the point that when we got back I HONESTLY thought I had left a window open.
Now that the dildos are done redesigning the logo, they can go about designing a car someone (not me) might want to buy.
The destruction of a great American icon (Chysler) and the builder of outstanding vehicles for the Arsenal of Democracy makes me SICK!
FUBO and the donkey your rode in on.
Should have kept Pontiac and Saturn
Should have kept Pontiac and Saturn
a new logo on a turd isn’t going to help.
No, that would be over at 0bama Motors..
“Am I the only one who thinks GM should have kept Pontiac and axed Buick?”
GM sells more Buicks in China than it sells in the US.
One has to set a new, low standard when viewing the quality of management for GM the last several years.
—Aztek.
—Decision to kill Camaro, without a replacement.
—Long lead times on everything.
—Having to get bailed out or go bankrupt.
Glad to see I’m not the only one who didn’t like the Aztek. :’)
