Hope your date is not the target!LOL! About once a month, we have a little family gathering at the range on a Wednesday--when ladies shoot for free--followed by a leisurely lunch. It's a little tradition we enjoy, and we get to see who got new toys and accessories for their arsenals.
Just call us the Cartridge Family.

My new favorite site for tracking tropical systems:
STORMPULSE
In the upper right corner of the map you can toggle on/off the forecast model tracks, satellite and radar. As of right now, no consensus after it crosses the Yucatan. GFS long range model brings it into the GOM and lets it die there, with one little lead impulse coming through NOLA early next week with some rain. I think its life cycle will depend on how/where it deals with the Yucatan. If it can sneak between there and Cuba and maintain contact with the warm waters, could get interesting.

Tropical Storm Ida winds 65 mph, additional strengthening
expected. Moving WNW 6 mph. Located about 60 miles E
of Nicaragua.

I wonder if it’s going to bounce off the Yucatan Peninsular and out into the Carribbean.
To: NautiNurse
I though you agreed to end this nonsense for the year. Looks like next week is going to be interesting.

Hey you! LTNS...and all that jazz.
NHC is still forecasting a real chance Ida will survive landfall in Central America and enter the GOM. However, they acknowledge a real possibility the storm may tear apart in the CA mountains. Hurry up and wait.

Rainfall accumulations of 15 to 20 inches are expected over eastern Nicaragua and eastern Honduras with maximum amounts of 25 inches possible. These rains could produce life-threatening flash flood and mud slides.

Raleigh is at -9" for the year right now.
I'm listening to a meteorologist as I type.
He said Raleigh gets 25% of its rainfall from tropical systems.
We could use a few inches.

They just said on the weather channel that the main threat in the US is to Florida....
My daughter is blaming me for this because I made the comment yesterday that "I guess we aren't going to have any tropical storms this season!"
To: Right_Handed_Writer
And she’s headed straight for the Gulf of Mexico.

At least we have the (very good) pecan crop almost done. Some years the storms coming through here affect the pecans so much that we have to buy pecans from Georgia for the Alabama Pecan Festival
