For every female, making sure your barnet is perfectly preened is of the utmost importance.
Unfortunately for a bear in Germany this may be a bit of a problem.
Dolores, a spectacled bear at a zoo in Leipzig, has gone bald. Not just on her head but all over her body.
Vets are baffled about what has caused the sudden hair loss which has affected all female bears at the zoo.
It could be due to a genetic defect but the animals don't seem to be suffering any other afflictions.
The normally fluffy dark brown bears should be now growing a thick fur coat to keep them warm during the winter.
One thing the lack of hair shows up in their huge, lethal claws.

maybe that’s what people see when they think they see a chupacabra or jersey devil...a bald bear. Poor thing looks horrid!
A scary looking beast without fur.
Damn!
If I saw that thing out in the woods, I’d think it was a demonic monster of some kind! lol
It kind of looks like a gargoyle turned to life!
Looks like a Mangey bear to me.
But look at the claws on that thing, if I did see it in the wild I could easily believe it was a demon.
That’s what I thought as well.
LMAO... I’d hit it..
Looks like some of you would make fun of my hairless cats too. I have to agree though, the bear looks frightening without its fur.
Bare.
Poor thing. It doesn’t even look like a bear. Looks like a dog’s head or a wolf?

Looks like a Chupacabra to me.
Bush’s fault!
