Conservatives in acting, theater, films, and the arts

Maybe Freepers need a forum devoted to movies, stage, acting, and the arts.

I often hear conservatives justifiably complain about the dominance of the Left in Hollywood. But there are a small number of conservatives in Hollywood and in other parts of the country who are trying to pass on the patriotic classic old Hollywood values of Frank Capra, John Wayne, John Ford, Elia Kazan and younger contemporary conservatives who are a little lonely in Tinsel Town. My sister lived in Hollywood for 20 years before locating in Falls Church, Va. in 2006 and she opened her own acting school there in 2007. She was best known in the 1990s for her starring role as Mother Goose in the "Mother Goose Video Treasury." If you have children or grandchildren who are interested in acting, don't just dismiss their dreams because you think all acting teachers are liberals. Here is one acting teacher who praises the blessings of God in American history and always asks her students to list three things they are grateful for because she says "an attitude of gratitude" will take her students far. I’d love a forum like that. I was “OUTED” as a RIGTWINGER about 10 years ago..and I was just starting out at the time.. there may be more FReepers in ‘The BIZ’, but they’re a lot Quieter than I AM... LOL

the4 lack of replies to this post should tell you something. Conservatives are really not interested in the arts.

Partly because the left has taken them over and reduced them to either propaganda or pornography, but also I think because we’re not educated int he arts anymore.

It’s a shame. But true.

I don’t believe Conservatives are not interested in the arts! I’ve gotten lots of responses to articles I’ve posted on architecture, art, music, etc.

I do agree that liberals have taken over much of the arts, but that doesn’t mean that the arts are abondoned by conservatives.

I don't know what the problem with Conservatives is. Too old? Maybe they work too much, while the Libs slack off? Too involved with family? I just don't know. The steamroller of Socialism is rolling over us, and nobody is doing anything! Let alone involving themselves in the arts. Conservatives are kind of dead, as is Conservatism. I just don't know what's going on.

First of all, remember, it is a very hard road, being a conservative in the entertainment industry or in the arts. I am ONE...LOL! I am a rock musician and music producer and teacher. (and painter as well)

What do you do? I was “outed’ around 9/11/01, but since I have big pictures of the twin towers and such in my recording studio, letters from soldiers, framed commendations from both Bushes etc, I guess it’s hard to hide! Ha Ha Ha!

My song “Bye Bye Baghdad” got airplay back during the first Gulf War, and i still have stuff from that, too! LOL.

I had been working in NY as an actor, grabbing whatever I can get... Director said “Adlib as you walk into the theatre” .. OK...
how was I supposed to know that the ONLY other Admitted Conservative was standing behind me.. he said something and I answered him with a little snub of FDR (was”current events” for the film”).Next thing I know..we both being booted off the Location.. haven’t worked in NYC since... LOL.

I’m working with Film School students here in town (and there is hope, many are Right of Center)

I was Guitar Player, myself back mid late 70’s (what little I can remember) and I’m just starting to start playing again after 30 retirement!
