“Asking the Better Question about Faux UBL”

SNIPPET: “A maqsura (royal box) is the reserved space within a mosque originally designed to shield a worshiping caliph and his court from assassins. It has evolved into a ceremonial space wherein a sultan or ruler can attend a prayer service in a mosque. Some are quite elaborate. Others are simply a wood screen. The question recently arose about whether Usama bin Ladin was seated in a ceremonial space at Abu Yahya al-Libi’s recently released Eid al-Fitr sermon. Adam at Danger Room broke it. Kompass and Roggio say yes. Rusty says no way.
