Lets discuss her possible 2012 run for President!
Yes, let’s!
I was hoping she would run. Do you think if her visit to Oprah is real, that is a signal she will not run?
I am disappointed she would go on Oprah.
I'm afraid I'm going to need some explanation as to why an appearance on Oprah would be a signal she is not going to run.
“It’s like deja-vu all over again.”
Why? Oprah has the largest audience and following of any show of her type and it is a following that may have an opportunity to hear a Conservative message. Any book that Oprah recommends is instant gold. This will give Palin an outlet to reach millions who otherwise wouldn't listen. Preaching to the choir doesn't gain you ground.
If she comes out and says she isn’t running it’s going to be more than I can bare ...
I’ve heard people speculate it could be an opening to become a professional commentator instead of a politician. I think that is pretty far reaching speculation.
Do you think if her visit to Oprah is real, that is a signal she will not run? .........................Oprah is a book interview, my guess she’ll wait til she is on Leno to announce that she will run.
You’re so right, and if Oprah gives her audience sanction to be open to Sarah and read her book that’ll be a big for Palin getting connected with a part of her natural constituency.
Yes let’s.
But before we do, Sarah has a few things to clear up. Can she do it, does she want to. It’s up to Sarah to prove she does, on both counts.
Time will tell, and it won’t be long now.
According to the latest GOP poll she’s 3rd behind Huckabee and Romney. This doesn’t take into account many non-primary voters like me who will ballot for her for the first time in a primary. She got the Oprah show, a book tour, more policy speeches and a 2010 campaign to engage. Yes, she should run, she IS viable in 2012.
I am Sick and tired of the same old same old candidates and the boring talk? Lets NOT talk about Sarah!!
Be strong. She's just one person and may choose to contribute in other ways. Let's learn a lesson from the Obama-cultists and not place our HopeNChange on the shoulders of one person.
Then, this is not the right thread for you.
RINOs hate her.
'Rats hate her.
Media hates her.
Independents are likely to be convinced to hate her.
No way does she get to >50% of voters. It's too bad.
The demographic of her audience may also be unique. A lot of these people may personally live conservative values- but because of propaganda and pop culture, have a completely warped view of what being a Conservative is. They believe the old stereotypes that Conservatives are heartless old, greedy business men (OK, a few of us are). They don’t understand the heart of our values.
You forgot all those people out there who don’t vote and say they are all crooked. Sarah is like a breath of fresh air! That’s where a lot of votes will come from!!
“Oprah has the largest audience and following of any show of her type and it is a following that may have an opportunity to hear a Conservative message”
Oprah’s ratings have been tanking ever since she went political and came out for Obama.
She may have jumped the shark when she had Holyfield and Tyson on last month.
If anything, Oprah wants Sarah to help her ratings rather than the other way round.
ACORN hates her.
You are free to post your own thread about your own guy or gal!!
It is precisely what she should be doing. The problem with too many conservative politicians is that they are unwilling to confront these people on their own turf and do battle.
If she handles Oprah, and I think she will, she not only gets face time on a show many dems watch, she also gets an opportunity to promote her new book. A book, by the way, that is sold out weeks before it is scheduled to appear in book stores.
So one can take from that that Palin does not really need Oprah to sell her book—especially to conservatives. But Oprah is a great place for her to get her political message out there. Moreover, she's getting all this publicity for free and without kowtowing one bit to the leftist media.
It is a brilliant and courageous gambit.
I ask you, who but Palin and Cheney are meaningfully facing off with the left? No one that I know of. Remember, I said “meaningfully”. The RINOs are simply tools of the demrat party so forget those people. But I don't see a lot of heat coming from so-called conservatives either.
The Oprah audience votes with their wombs, not with their minds.
I’d welcome and support that scenario.
Considering the debt being left to, and the liberty being stolen from future generations by the establishment, this may work in our favor.
Republicans have been the brunt of jokes for years, via Hollywood and the media. Its been going on so long that they have become a joke. Palin brought a fresh face to the Party, a rejuvenated spirit as witnessed by the crowds she drew. I am sure we can count on the same ole same ole crowd to screw things up in the end with their DC insider politics.
That's going to happen with any Republican that isn't John McCain or maybe his mini-me Gramnesty. Even then they'll hate the Republican after the primary.
RINOs hate her.
I'm tired of jumping when a RINO says frog. I can accept the fact that there are certain areas like the Northeast where it will be hard to elect a conservative. I can accept that there are RINOs there if the national party would hold their feet to the fire and expect loyalty or punish them for disloyalty. Instead, even if we get a majority it depends on them not betraying, which they can do without consequences.
Independents are likely to be convinced to hate her.
Or to love her. That is our real hope. She is personable. She is anti-corruption, which will appeal to many. She can be anti-Washington if we keep her from drinking the waters of the Potomac.
No way does she get to >50% of voters. It's too bad.
She can if the 'Rats are demoralized and the Republicans are fired up. I don't see any moderate getting the Republican base excited.
If you don’t like Sarah Palin be honest and just say so. Don’t pretend to be offended that she is going to use Oprah, to get her message out. I am sure if Sarah turned down the opportunity to appear on Oprah’s show you, and like minded people would bemoan that fact as well. The lament would be that Sarah Palin is afraid to appear on Oprah’s show and therefore Sarah is not cut out to be President.
She will not run, thats my opinion...she will go into show business...have her own show...she WILL BE GREAT on TV...
maybe a political show...who knows...if she wanted to pursue her political ambitions than she would still be Governor of Alaska...
If she comes out and says she isnt running its going to be more than I can bare ...
LOL........ don’t sneak up anyone while in the bare......
What are you talking about?
.jpg)
As far as her actual accomplishments are concerned, the list is downright embarrassing:
1.) She was the Mayor of a tiny town of less then 7,000 people.
2.) She was Governor of a state with only one fourth of the population of San Diego County.
3.) She quit as Governor before even finishing her first term in order to chase the Big Bucks by writing her autobiography in record time before the Christmas shopping season and traveling around the globe giving paid speeches for fat speaking fees.
Sarah Palin might very well win a majority of Republican votes in Republican primaries but Republicans only make up about 27% of the total American electorate.
In a general election, Sarah Palin has as much of a chance of being elected President as Kate Gosselin does.
Incoming.......
Them Palin-Bots are a mean bunch when their panties get in a wad.
All true but the experience you list is still miles ahead of what “The 0ne” had before he was elected. The problem is that in 2012 she’ll be running against not only “The Dear Leader” but also against the entire media including hollywood.
If Sarah refused to go in Oprah, people would say that she is afraid to face Oprah. Sarah is going on Oprah, so people are pretending to be offended by that fact. The people who hate Sarah are always going to cast her decisions in the worst possible light.
I'm tired of seeing folks say "RINO" every time they encounter an idea they disagree with. It's a great indicator of the intellectual poverty of the conservative movement, but it's also downright embarrassing.
You mean the two Michaels?
Do you think if her visit to Oprah is real, that is a signal she will not run?
I replied:
I'm afraid I'm going to need some explanation as to why an appearance on Oprah would be a signal she is not going to run.
So where did you get the idea that:
If you dont like Sarah Palin be honest and just say so. Dont pretend to be offended that she is going to use Oprah, to get her message out.
I would like to see how that accusation came about, please.
A true leader (Sarah) will not back down from the enemy (oprah-the-orca).
And Zero was a community organizer and taught two classes a year at a university.
Would anybody that "lives conservative values" allow Levi Johnston to get within 1,000 yards of their 16 year old daughter?
You would rather her just preach to the choir?
Ronald Reagan, Any Rand and William F Buckly all went on Donahue’s show. Donahue was far more of a radical, flaming liberal than Oprah.
Are you saying I am a Sarah-bot and have no brain? Have you seen me jump and tear apart the Anti Palin crowd? Have I been mean? I am sorry that I see Sarah as an answer to this sewer of a Country and one that I Love!!!
Only one who didn’t have a time machine. Levi was only one year older than her, a star athlete, and until this episode, seemed like a clean cut all American. High school kids date and sometimes they have sex.. gosh.. what a shocker. With that standard, I guess you must be in the Chuck Baldwin theocrat camp?
Oh I forgot, everyone on this site has perfect freinds, family and acquaintances and so do all of their children. My mistake.
I'll preface my comment by saying that I don't think at all well of Ms. Palin as a candidate. That said, I can't fault her for going on Oprah.
I believe Sarah Palin's absolute weakest demographic is among women, perhaps especially among those who would tend to pay attention to Oprah.
She can't expect the media to help her with them -- her only way to reach that demographic is to do so directly. So she goes on Oprah.
Now, I doubt that she'll actually play all that well on the show but, barring a major meltdown, she will probably succeed in giving them something more solid than the charicature on which Oprah's viewers are currently basing their opinions of her.
