In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
redolent \RED-uh-luhnt\, adjective
1. Having or exuding fragrance; scented; aromatic.
2. Full of fragrance; odorous; smelling (usually used with 'of' or 'with').
3. Serving to bring to mind; evocative; suggestive; reminiscent (usually used with 'of' or 'with')
Example sentences:
The 142-foot-long sidewheeled steamer . . . ferried people from place to place, . . . its two decks redolent with the aroma of fresh grapes, peaches, and other fruit headed for the rail spur at the Canandaigua pier, then on to markets in New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.
-- A. M. Sperber and Eric Lax, Bogart
The simple, semisweet and moist cake was redolent of cinnamon and nutmeg and studded with Mr. McCartney's favorite nuts, pecans.
-- Bryan Miller, "Lots of Smidgens, But Hold the Meat", New York Times, September 7, 1994
Backed by soaring sax and energetic percussion, Martin makes the sort of celebratory, Spanish party music redolent of warm weather and cocktails.
-- Lisa Verrico, Times (London), November 10, 2000
Etymology:
Redolent derives from Latin redolens, -entis, present participle of redolere, "to emit a scent, to diffuse an odor," from red-, re- + olere, "to exhale an odor."
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

Hail to Pitt!
Hail to Pitt, hail to Pitt every loyal son
Hail to Pitt, hail to Pitt ‘til the victory is won
The gold and blue shall wave forever
On high through fair and stormy weather
We’ll sing her praises far and wide
Until the end of time
Hooperay, hooperay for dear old U-N-I
We’ll give a grand old alleghenee, genac, genac, genac
We’ll wave and cheer for many a year
And sing our songs out loud and clear
For our university.

I've seen ugly comments from Catholics about not wanting a married priest with his wife in the pews and his children running up and down the aisles. And yes, that's how they put it. I'd rather see us go Anglican with the Southern Cone theology, which is more biblically based than the current abomination denomination of ECUSA.

Those Titans really shouldn’t have stepped on the Terrible Towel.
Anyone notice the Penguins are off on a tear? They’ve only lost once this year. That’ll come in handy later on when the doldrums kick in.
To: secret garden
We Catholics have a place for every one. Those who hate children can go to the 7 AM Mass. ;-)
To: SoothingDave
Towel? Like we're superstitious? Naaa, we're just terrible this year and have been since last year's play-offs.
We've had the free month of Center Ice and I am losing sleep staying up and watching everyone play. I like the Pens. They should be on a tear with the arsenal they have on the roster.

that appears to be a frozen meal, i can’t find a site for their dinner kits, which is what i have been using. all you need is the chicken and the rest including the rice, comes with the kit. tastes very authentic. i have made kung pao chicken and i like that best, but the cashew chicken last night was pretty good and i have leftovers for lunch today.

and i suppose there are no ugly comments from Protestants about Catholics? ROR! there is equal opportunity ugliness crossing all religious lines. Yesterday i saw someone saying, oh well maybe the molestations will stop now that they will have married priest. RME. #1 as if celibacy has ANYTHING to do with molestations and #2 as if Catholics have a monopoly on it.
Pope Benedict has provided a bridge for those who desire to cross. I’d love for it to be a two-way bridge so that the CINOS could cross to the ECUSA which has everything they want, but no, they’d rather stay and make nuisances of themselves.

It’s not like the CINOs even spend much time in church. They just claim to be Catholic but don’t want to invest anything into it. There are plenty of orthodox Episcopalians, my church included, who have nothing to do with the leadership. We are like franchises really, so you can find one to suit your needs in any given area.

To: secret garden
oh no, the CINOS spend plenty of time in church, they can even be eucharistic ministers and are in the parish hierarchy and they are plenty invested in the church, but it’s the church of the Happy Slap where they can emphasize social justice issues to the exclusion of everything else. CINOism is not irreligious at all, it’s very religious in it’s own happy slappy way.
