.......a most awesome Air Show! Major General Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier at 10am sharp to get the show rolling.
Show promo video here....................this is what the show offered.......and more.....
My son took his wife and 4 kids there. Took FWY 58 from Bakersfield (75 miles) to the north gate. Traffic backed up on the fwy....... He left home at 8am and after the long line, he didn’t get to the parking lot until noon. Then they wanted to bus them to the site. He got disgusted and turned around a came home.
I can’t back to California anymore.
My Green Card expired.

That’s cool that Chuck Yeager was there.
I went to an airshow at Oceana NAS in Virginia Beach this weekend. Crappy weather at least it did not rain although the low ceiling forced the cancellation of the Canadian Snowbirds and the fleet airwing fly over. No JSF or Raptors but they had the Blue Angels, the F-16 Strike Eagle and a Super Hornet. For me the best is the roar from the afterburners and seeing the plane come so close to breaking the sound barrier. For history buffs they had a Mustang and a Corasir, a night fighter version with the radar dome on one of the wings. Overall cool.
I have been to Edwards to see Yeagar break the sound barrier in the past. Incredible show. I’d love to go back.
