The Larimer County Sheriff says criminal charges are likely expected to be filed against Richard Heene.
Heene is the Fort Collins man who reported his 6-year-old son missing in a helium-filled balloon on Thursday.
The sheriff did not give specific charges, but said they would likely be a class 3 misdemeanor, which could be false reporting.
The sheriff's office is working on getting a search warrant to search the Heene home and is planning a news conference Sunday at 11 a.m.
Richard Heene and his wife Mayumi were interviewed by investigators Saturday.

What a witchhunt! And speaking of witches, how about that Mayumi, hubba hubba! You know how they say that men are from Mars and that women are from Venus? Well Richard and Mayumi are both from Uranus. They state that they are descended from aliens and they will get no challenge on that statement from me!

Get with it! You have S&R expenses charged to lost/missing hunters and others, what’s the difference, this is a hoax and the perpetrator (the father) needs punishing.
I had read that CPS was looking into this family but don’t know if that’s a rumor or what.

He should also be charged with being really annoying, although I am not sure that there is a law to cover that.
To: The Comedian
Class 3 misdemeanor in CO carries a $750 fine, max and/or 6 months in jail. Only an idiot would take it to trial - but then again this is Richard Heene, publicity hound.

If we’re not careful, this website will become like the Evening News. Distract us with the meaningless stories while the Obama Marxists quietly gain control of everything, including everyone’s ability to resist their efforts to stay in office without an election in 2012.

On another forum, someone was saying that the nutball father is a compulsive liar, ‘so he should run for Congress.’ Fair enough.

If there were such a law, we'd have grounds for the impeachment of Barak Obama.

Like you said, it's amazing how many people think they know everything.
To: sonofstrangelove
Prior to the news conference, two apparent protestors were seen on the street in front of the house. One had a sign that read: "Put Balloon Boy on TV: America's Most Wanted." The other person, clad in a blue tie-dyed shirt, had a sign that said: "10/15/09 We will never forget." What the...? Weirdos from Boulder with nothing better to do?

I had read that CPS was looking into this family I got a clue about these parents when the little boy was puking and they sent him to the bath room, no adult seemed to want to go with him (off camera) until the reporter suggested it to the mother.

Ballooneytunes bit off more than he can chew. A few come to mind...
Filing false police report (911 call) misdemeanor
Reckless endangerment (of rescue personnel) misdemeanor
Conspiracy to defraud investigators (probable felony, conspiracy to pick your nose will get you 99 yrs + for each nostril)
Obstruction of justice - probable felony
I hate to see a good man go down because he’s got a screw loose or three, but in my totally unprofessional opinion, this guy needs some sort of counseling and treatment.
Shock therapy or something!

The sheriff office interviewed the family this afternoon.
Boy, that interview must have gone badly if they are talking about charging them.
If I were that crazy dad, I would “lawyer up” about now.
