Build a 'Junnel'
Newport News, Va., Daily Press ^ | October 17, 2009 | Michael Thompson

I am amazed that our candidates for governor, our representatives and the public's general discussion of transportation in Hampton Roads don't include building a "Junnel" under the James River for high-speed rail and commuting. Such would tie Southside to the Peninsula, Richmond, Washington, New York and points south and west together. As regards to the environment, it makes loads of sense and is something from which all concerns would benefit.

"Junnel" sounds a lot better than "Big Dig", LOL!

I'm not familiar with this local area,
but maybe the guy has a good idea that is being overlooked in this region.

I plan deliveries from a warehouse in Richmond to grocery stores all over the peninsula and the East shore.

The existing road infastrutcure works fine. The key here is "high speed rail" this is another attempt to get more Government money spent on Evirowack job "green" schemes.

Rather then waste money on useless rail projects, they could just expand the existing road net.

This guy put “environmental sense” and “high speed rail” in the same paragraph. Since Hampton Roads already has several bridge tunnels and many bridges, one wonders if this guy just wants something to make his personal commute a few minutes less.

Just part of Hussein's nationwide push for 18th century transportation. Here in Wisconsin Gov Doyal et al are on the band wagon, even though no rails have yet been tested to see if they could stand the load, but have bought several Spanish made trains for $50 million. No one wants them and no one will ride them. Trains to nowhere, guaranteed never to get above 50 mph due to all the stops. But will be very heavily subsidized by increased taxes. Which is the point, I think.

Hey Guys! Long time no see!
How have you two been?

Hey, like I said, I'm not very familiar with this specific community's needs.
But if this little idea attracted your tag-team talking points, then it must have some pretty good merit.
I'm going to have to use Mapquest or Google Earth to take a closer look at the transportation routes myself.
The "Junnel" is beginning to sound like a worthwhile cause!!!

LOL! Same ol' Johnnie I remember from the good old days...
always quick with the "pot calling the kettle black" retort!

Are you really that worried that GOP candidates might develop some common sense on some of these infrastructure projects?

LOL!!! I'm beginning to think that the Messiah might even be so desperate for Jobs and Real Recovery, he might even be willing to backstab his base and build some Nuclear Power Plants for us!!!

LOL! Wouldn't THAT be ironic!!!

No going back now Wille.

You finally came out of the closet and admitted the Neo Marxism that lies at your core.

Cannot crawl back into your closet of denial now Willie.

So just run out and put the Obama sticker on your car Willie.

No use trying to hide from the truth any more Willie. You are out.

No... the only ones who are "out" are the Big Oil Lobby.
They had their 8-year-reign and left the GOP in a shambles.
Chanting the same old oily-slick mantra isn't going to get GOP candidates elected again... not for a long time. They screwed the pooch way too bad.

The GOP has to abandon special-interest driven partisan stupidity if they want to get into good graces with the American People.
And I'm not talking phoney-baloney dog-and-pony-show "bipartisan" B/S photo-ops, either. But a good starting point IS infrastructure. There are many, many projects being pursued. We need to adopt the good ones and weed out the bad ones. AND weed out the weasels who are proposing the bad ones to derail the good ones.

It should be interesting, don't you agree?
